Marida-Sales Brochure.Pdf A new standard of contemporary style. Refined, considered living creating the new benchmark in Mordialloc. Mordialloc 3195 Marida [ma - ɾi - dah] noun. Derived from local aboriginal language meaning ‘small tidal stream’ or ‘near little sea’. Mordialloc Pier 2 Mordialloc Marida 3 Artist impression Marida - White Street Design direction from Cera Stribley The driving element of the design for Marida is to create a simple, elegant form that wraps around the large feature Eucalyptus tree on the site, becoming the visual centrepiece of the project. The ground and first levels incorporate strong vertical lines and simple volumes that exude a classic solid look, emphasised by the use of white brick. Cutouts between townhouses create a break in the overall built form and contrasting materials (dark cladding), for the podium level gives the appearance of smaller-scale development. Timber elements are introduced to soften the general aesthetic and relate to natural tones. The use of black for detailing on doors, windows and balustrades tie the design together. Additional landscaping is used along the street to compliment the surrounding green context of White Street. Townhouses include direct street entry to allow a sense of address.
