Reg. 50113 (August 16, 2013) ("Notice"), the Motion Picture Association of America, Inc. ("MPAA"), its member companies and other producers and distributors of syndicated series, movies, specials, and non-team sports broadcast by television stations and retransmitted by cable systems who have agreed to representation by MPAA ("MPAA-represented Program Suppliers"), hereby petition the Copyright Royalty Judges ("Judges") to participate in the 2004-2009 Phase II Proceeding, as required by 37 C.F.R. § 351.1(b)(2)(i0. MPAA will represent the copyright owners of syndicated series, movies, specials, and non-team sports broadcast by television stations in the years 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 who have agreed to representation by MPAA in the 2004-2009 Phase II Proceeding. The MPAA-represented Program Suppliers for each cable royalty year at issue are identified in Attachment A hereto. MPAA reserves the right to amend its list of represented participants as 5505680A/43507-00068 such amendments may be necessary and legally permissible. As of the date of this joint petition to participate, MPAA and its undersigned counsel certify that they have the authority and consent of each of the parties listed on Attachment A to represent them in the 2004-2009 Phase II Proceeding. As copyright owners of the majority of programming broadcast on stations whose signals were carried by cable systems as distant signals in the years 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009, the MPAA-represented Program Suppliers have a significant interest in the subject matter of the 2004-2009 Phase II Proceeding, and request that their joint petition to participate be granted. As required by the Judges' regulations and the Notice, MPAA- represented Program Suppliers have attached a check with their $150 filing fee. See 37 C.F.R. § 351.1(b)(4); Notice at 50114.     Jeff norton Biography Jeff Norton is a creator. He is an award winning author, writer-producer, and founder of the multimedia production company, Awesome. Jeff’s debut novel ‘MetaWars’ (Orchard Books) is a high-tech thriller and winner of the 2013 Rotherham Book Award. The first three books in the series have published to rave reviews and the final installment publishes in 2014. His new series, ‘Memoirs of a Neurotic Zombie’ will be published by Faber in October, 2014. Under the banner of Awesome, Jeff is the creator of the ‘Princess Ponies’ books by Chloe Ryder (Bloomsbury) and ‘Drummer Girl’ by Bridget Tyler (Templar).
