Jeff norton Biography

Jeff Norton is a creator. He is an award winning author, writer-producer, and founder of the multimedia production company, Awesome.

Jeff’s debut novel ‘MetaWars’ (Orchard Books) is a high-tech thriller and winner of the 2013 Rotherham Book Award. The first three books in the series have published to rave reviews and the final installment publishes in 2014. His new series, ‘Memoirs of a Neurotic Zombie’ will be published by Faber in October, 2014.

Under the banner of Awesome, Jeff is the creator of the ‘Princess Ponies’ books by Chloe Ryder (Bloomsbury) and ‘Drummer Girl’ by Bridget Tyler (Templar).

Jeff is also a producer and filmmaker in multiple media. For television, Jeff is currently producing the TV adaptation of Jon Scieszka’s best-selling book series TRUCKTOWN with . The series will premiere around the world in 2014. As a filmmaker, Jeff is currently developing his first with UK’s MultiStory Films. Jeff began writing and directing short films, including the comedy short ‘The First Zombie’ based on his blog. His new short film, ‘Above Water’, is now playing major film festivals.

Before embarking on his own creativity, Jeff managed the literary estate of , Britain’s best-loved author, as Senior Vice President of Ltd.

Before moving to the U.K., Jeff acquired the to the best-selling ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ books and produced the award-winning interactive feature ‘Choose Your Own Adventure: The Abominable Snowman’ staring William H. Macy, Frankie Muniz, and Felicity Huffman.

Jeff previously consulted to The Jim Henson Company and Regent Entertainment after starting his entertainment career in the mailroom at International Creative Management (ICM) and interning at Silver Pictures (Warner Bros).

Before entering the entertainment industry, Jeff was a marketing executive at Procter & Gamble where he launched new businesses (Febreze and Dryel), ran the marketing campaign for P&G’s $500 million dishwashing business, and launched the ongoing partnership with the U.S. Fund For UNICEF.

Jeff studied Film Studies and Commerce at Queen’s University, Canada, and holds and MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a speaker at events such as The Children’s Media Conference, Power to the Pixel, literary festivals, and The Bookseller conferences.

Originally from Canada, Jeff moved to London from Los Angeles where he now lives with his wife and his two delightful (though sleep-depriving) young sons. When he’s not creating compelling characters, awesome stories, and immersive worlds, Jeff spends time with his young family, runs on Hampstead Heath, and tweets as @thejeffnorton.
