NFL Draft Deal Between New York Giants, Buffalo Bills Won't Happen Author : David Levin nd It’s one of the more likely scenarios of the NFL Draft. The Buffalo Bills using the 12th and 22 picks in the first round as chess pieces to move up to the 2nd overall pick the New York Giants own. The thought is the Bills, in need of a franchise quarterback, would have their pick of four of the top five remaining signal callers at the position. Per Chris Wesseling of NFL.com, a trade might just be a pipe dream as it is highly unlikely for the deal to happen prior to the NFL Draft on Thursday night or while the Giants are on the clock. The Buffalo Bills signed AJ McCarron in the offseason after trading Tyrod Taylor to the Cleveland Browns. The Bills made the playoffs last season for the first time since 1999. Appearing on Monday's edition of Good Morning Football, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport cautioned not 1 / 2 to read too much into Bills GM Brandon Beane's history with new Giants boss Dave Gettleman. "From what I understand, it's not going to be one of those things where they just sell out and (trade) all the way to No. 2 with the Giants," Rapoport said. "I would be at this moment surprised if that happens." Moving 10 spots is pretty steep for a quarterback that may or may not pan out. While as many as six passers could be drafted in the first round, the Buffalo Bills may be able to sit at 12 and still get Louisville’s Lamar Jackson. The Miami Dolphins could also be interested in a franchise quarterback with their 11th overall pick in the NFL Draft. Rapoport suggested a deal for the fifth or sixth pick might be a better scenario for the Bills. The Indianapolis Colts and general manager Chris Ballard already said the team may be willing to move down the draft board once again. Denver is in the market for a signal caller, but signed Case Keenum in free agency from the Minnesota Vikings. As Wesseling also pointed out, Arizona Cardinals GM Steve Keim is in the market for a quarterback after being leapfrogged for Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson last year. Although Keim would be open to a trade, Rapoport explained, it's most likely to happen if his coveted quarterback falls past the Dolphins and would require jumping just a few spots. If someone like Josh Rosen of UCLA falls in the back end of the top 10 of the NFL Draft, it is possible the st New England Patriots may also be in play here as their own the 23rd and 31 picks in the first round. The Buffalo Bills may also take a look at Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph, as he figures to be there in the middle of the first round. The Bills started over at the Quarterback position with rookie Josh Allen and infused some young pieces on the defensive side of the ball. There is a lot to look forward to as many of the rosters younger players were evaluated and got suitable playing time to help them grow going forward. The 2019 schedule on paper is favorable and the Bills are expected by many to improve and challenge for a playoff spot and hopefully (Yes, we say this every year) close the gap with the New England Patriots. It’s got to happen someday right? The 84th annual 2019 NFL draft is taking place in Nashville, Tennessee this year on April 25th-27. The Bills are in a healthy draft position where they own extra mid round picks that could come in handy should General Manager Brandon Beane want to move up in the first or second rounds. The Bills will enter the draft with 10 draft selections. Brandon Beane will be able to use his extra draft selections in the 4th, 5th, and 7th to move up or the Bills could look to stockpiling 2020 draft picks moving down.

Brandon Marshall’s salary becomes fully guaranteed; Broncos’ starting ILB duo remains intact By Nicki Jhabvala Denver Post March 19, 2018 Although the Broncos had some discussions about making a move at inside linebacker this offseason, their starting duo of Todd Davis and Brandon Marshall will return. Last week the team re-signed Davis to a three-year, $15 million contract that includes $6 million in guarantees. And on Sunday, Marshall’s $5 million salary for 2018 became fully guaranteed, ensuring he will be back, as well. Even though Marshall signed a four-year extension in 2016, there was some question of whether he would return this year as general manager John Elway retooled the roster. In addition to re-signing Davis, the Broncos offered backup Corey Nelson a one-year, $2.25 million offer to return, but Nelson took the same money in Philadelphia. Had Nelson stayed, however, the Broncos would have been facing a hefty price tag to keep their inside linebacker group intact. But when Marshall wasn’t moved in the first wave of free agency, it became clear he wasn’t going anywhere. Including his prorated signing bonus, he has a salary cap charge of $7 million for 2018 and has two other option years remaining on the deal, carrying base salaries of $6.5 million and $7 million, respectively. The $4.5 million salary of safety Darian Stewart also became fully guaranteed Sunday.
