Marshall, originally a fifth-round selection (142nd overall) by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2012 NFL Draft, has spent his last six seasons (2013-18) with the Denver Broncos and now enters his eighth year in the league. Marshall has appeared in 74 career contests and made 63 starts during his first seven seasons, totaling 412 tackles (301 solo), 6.5 sacks, two interceptions, 21 passes defensed, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. In seven playoff appearances including four starts, he has compiled 20 stops (seven), two passes defensed and one forced fumble. Last season, Marshall appeared in 11 games and made seven starts with the Broncos, totaling 42 stops (22) and one pass defensed. Over his six seasons with the Broncos, Marshall recorded three years with at least 100 tackles, two of which led the club in 2014 and 2017. In 2015, Marshall posted 101 tackles (76), starting in all 16 contests for the Broncos in addition to three postseason starts, en route to a Super Bowl 50 victory in which he contributed with five stops in the championship game. A native of Las Vegas, Nev., Marshall was a four-year starter from 2008-11 at Nevada. Shaq and Kobe … or Chris and Von, if your heart bleeds orange. Before the Broncos even don the pads, there’s already a controversy at training camp. Von Miller and Chris Harris Jr., the two best players on the team, are bickering like brothers. “We are like Shaq and Kobe,” Harris said Wednesday, comparing the Broncos’ stellar defensive tandem to the legendary Los Angeles Lakers of yore. So being the intrepid reporter, I asked: Which one is Shaquille O’Neal? And who is Kobe Bryant? Harris immediately piped up: “He’s Shaq.” And Miller retorted: “I’m definitely Kobe.” Children, please. Try to behave. We all know the Broncos haven’t been on the same page – or in the NFL playoffs — since Super Bowl 50. So it appears Harris and Miller are already in mid-season form, even before new coach Vic Fangio is forced to toss aside his beloved gray sweats in the sweltering July heat. Yes, Miller and Harris are just messing with each other about the Shaq and Kobe stuff. So let’s get down to serious business: How good should Broncos Country expect their favorite team to be in 2019? “I’ll let you guys set that.     Ohio State Pro Day Attracts Over 100 Reps From All 32 NFL Teams Fourteen former Buckeyes from Ohio State’s 2018 team returned Wednesday to the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, where OSU’s annual pro day built further buzz as the one-month mark until the NFL draft approaches. While two of Ohio State’s top prospects did not participate entirely as defensive end Nick Bosa stands on his results at the NFL scouting combine and cornerback Kendall Sheffield continues to recover from his left pectoral muscle injury, quarterback Dwayne Haskins and his fellow Buckeyes reunited. In front of all 32 NFL franchises, OSU’s showcase from 11:30 a.m. went into the afternoon until about 2 p.m. with four head coaches and four general managers among approximately 130 personnel on hand. “I think, first off, it shows you where we’re at with our development of guys,” said head coach Ryan Day. “And the fact that we had this many people here in the NFL and the personnel that we had in the building today, and then to see the show that they put on is really impressive and the things that they’re talking about with our players in terms of what kind of guys they are, how they play, physically, how they’re ready. To see some of these guys — especially the guys who have been in the program for five years — the work they’ve put in to be in this moment, it’s pretty cool.” Among the head coaches were Zac Taylor (Cincinnati Bengals), Pat Shurmur (New York Giants), Mike Zimmer (Minnesota Vikings) and Jay Gruden (Washington Redskins).
