Informational letter

We invite you to take part in the All-Russian Scientific Conference of Young Scientists, which is organized by the Department of World History and International Relations of The Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University (Veliky Novgorod, ) and will be held in September 23-24, 2021 at the Institute of Humanities of NovSU. The conference is planned for young teachers, researchers, graduate students, undergraduates, students of Russian and foreign universities. The key goal of the conference is to expand the range of Hanseatic researchers and their cooperation with the Baltic Center of NovSU. The conference is deducated to issues of origin, typology and modification of the communicative space associated with the activities of the Hanseatic Union and the participation of Russian cities. The chronological aspect of the reports presented at the conference involving the problems of the medieval and modern Hansa, as well as the New Hanseatic Union, presented by a number of Russian cities headed by Veliky Novgorod. The thematic series of speeches includes economics, political and military history, social problems, the history of culture and everyday life. The originality of the problems, the use of unfamiliar sources and the innovation of historical research are definitely welcomed. Main issues of the conference: 1. Origins and beginning of the Hansa. 2. Change of trading guidelines of Veliky Novgorod: from to Hansa. 3. Lübeck - head of the German Hansa. 4. Hanseatic communications in the Middle Ages and early New Time. 5. Organization of Hanseatic trade. 6. Hanseatic goods assortment in the frames of written and archaeological sources. 7. German compound in Veliky Novgorod: the organization, functioning, social appearance of its merchants, their relationship with Novgorodians and the Novgorod administration. 8. Russian, Lithuanian and Livonian cities in the Hanseatic commodity exchange system. 9. Trade policy of the . 10. Russian-Hanseatic cultural interaction. 11. Daily life of Hanseatic people in Russian cities.

The program of the conference will include excursions to the historical center of Veliky Novgorod and Antonovo (the former Antoniev Monastery).

To participate in the conference, it is necessary to send an application (Appendix 1) to the postal address of the conference until May 25, 2021 ([email protected]).

Based on results of the conference, it is planned to publish the best reports in the electronic collection of materials of the RSCI conference. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to select reports for publication. Requirements for the preparation of materials will be sent out after the conference. Certificates will be issued to all conference participants Personal invitations (on individual request) can be sent in early September 2021. In case of maintaining an unfavorable epidemiological situation, it is possible to hold a conference in online format.
