TBA • The Griffons will be under 2nd year head coach Rob Edmisson who guided the Griffons to a 16-12 overall record and 8-10 in MIAA NCAA Central Regional play. The Griffons went 1-1 in the MIAA tournament a year ago defeating Pittsburg State 71-67 and falling to #13 Central Missouri 3/14-17/2014 NCAA Central Regional TBA TBA 54-53. NCAA Elite Eight • The Griffons have struggled away from the fieldhouse this season falling in six of their seven road games which includes going 0-4 in 3/25-28/2014 NCAA Elite Eight Erie, Pa. TBA MIAA play. The Griffons only road win of the season came against the Rockhurst Hawks on November 23 by a score of 63-59. • On the other hand the Griffons have been pretty good at home winning 4-2 in the fieldhouse and 1-2 in MIAA play in the fieldhouse. They beat the UNK Lopers in MIAA play back on January 6 but fell to Fort Hays State and Washburn. *=MIAA Game • Edmisson won a NAIA National Championship at Oklahoma State University in 2011-12. BOLD = Home Games • Wednesday’s meeting was the 59th meeting with the Central Missouri Jennies. The Griffons fell last season against the Jennies in War- rensburg in overtime and in the MIAA Tournament by one point. • Saturday’s meeting will mark the 48th all-time game against the Southwest Baptist Bearcats. The Griffons won last years meeting 71-64 in St. Joseph on March 2. MWSU Athletic Media Relations • When the Griffons have at least on player score in double figures they are 4-8 on the season. When they don’t have a player score in double figures they are 1-1. • In two years under Edmisson the Griffons are 8-13 in road games and 2-12 in road MIAA games.     It’s a Great Time toCoaches Be a Griffon 2011-2012 Griffon Basketball HEAD COACH LYNN PLETT Lynn Plett begins his fifth season at the helm of the Griffon Women’s Basketball program. Plett guided the Griffons back to the MIAA Tournament for the first time since 2008. He also guided the Griffons to a winning record for the first time since 2004-2005. Western finished with a 14-13 overall record and 11-11 in MIAA action. He coached two players who earned MIAA honors. Jessica Koch was named to the All-MIAA Second Team while Rachel Luteyn earned All-MIAA Third Team. Luteyn was also named the Missouri Western State University Female Student-Athlete of the Year. In 2009-2010 Plett coached Honorable Mention All-MIAA selection Jessica Koch and In 2008-2009, Koch was also named the MIAA Freshman of the Year. In 2007-2008, Plett’s first year at MWSU, he had three players named to All-MIAA teams and two All-Region selections in Jill Johnson and Yanique Javois. Plett came to MWSU from Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois, where he led the Flyers program HEAD COACH LYNN PLETT for the previous five seasons (2002-2007). Plett became the seventh Missouri Western head coach on June 20, 2007. During the 2006-2007 season, Plett led his team to a school best 28-4 record and was the host institution and #1 seed of the 2007 Great Lakes Regional Tournament. Lewis also won both the Great Lakes Valley Eastern Division Conference Championship and Great Lakes Valley Post-Season Tournament Championship.
