ARTS 1301 3D Design

This course will serve as an introduction to the elements and principles of 3D design. Classes will consist of lectures, demonstrations, experiments, discussions, and projects. Students must rely on craftsmanship and a solid understanding of the stated objectives of each project alongside an eagerness to participate in class and work with a variety of

3 materials in order to succeed. Students will develop their verbal and visual vocabulary to enhance their understanding of the concepts of 3D design.

ARTS 3302 Expanded Media II

Through , interviews and guest speakers, students will become familiar with various ways archives are activated in contemporary art and related fields. Students will also undertake individual and collaborative assignments that build on their personal interests to create a portfolio of contemporary works.

ARTS 4308 Mapping the City

This course will explore different methods of mapping (real and conceptual) utilized by contemporary artists and engage students in collaborative multidisciplinary projects. With a population of over 22 million people, Mexico City is one of the largest cities in the world and a site that is abundant with public and private spaces ripe for artistic exploration. Students will build on their own interests and strengths, utilizing photography/video/interview formats/drawing/collage/etc., to build a portfolio of contemporary works.

ARTS 4321 Contemporary Art in Mexico

This course explores contemporary art practices in Mexico through site visits, studio visits, readings and writing.
