The Chicopee Ski Club is incorporated as a non-profit entity owned by its members and expertly man- aged by the Executive Director and Senior Management team. Chicopee leases the lands we operate on from the Grand River Conservation Authority. All facilities, lifts, equipment etc. on the land are wholly owned by the Club. An elected Board of Directors of ten volunteer members represent the membership as a governance board and assist in providing support to the organization. An enthusias- tic team of employees conducts all of Chicopee’s daily operations – 30 full time year–round and 400+ seasonal and part-time employees.

Chicopee, like all businesses, must ensure its long term sustainability. Although the facility is closely associated with its surrounding communities, it is not supported through any tax dollars. Chicopee contributes $5 million+ through employment, etc. into the local economy. KELLY VANDERBEEK - Going for the Gold! Born in Kapuskasing and raised in Kitchener, Ontario, Kelly VanderBeek learned to ski & race at Chicopee before moving on to the world stage. Considered an unlikely contender to emerge as a World Class Downhiller, Kelly successfully competed in her first Olympics, missing the podium by a mere three one- hundredths of a second and earning a 4th place finish in Torino in 2006. Kelly, with three World Cup podiums behind her, looks towards Vancouver 2010 as the motivation to aspire to greatness. The entire Chicopee family, members, guests and staff look to cheer her on to the realization of her dreams.
