STRAIGHT AND LEVEL By Brad Thomas The bitter winter cold arrived with a bang in early President January and not only stopped motorists but schools, Antique/Classic Division businesses and commercial air travel in many areas of the country. Those of us in the process of restorations do have something to accomplish if we have an avail able working area that can be heated, and those with out heat will just have to wait until spring arrives. Even with a heated working area you must be careful of sudden changes in temperatures when moving your projects around. We well remember a few years back when Steve Wittman was heading to Florida for the Sun 'N Fun Convention when it was being held in January. It was quite cold outside and when Steve rolled his Tail wind out of the heated hangar and into the sudden temperature change, he was amazed to watch his wind son, now designated a national monument. If you say you haven't you are probably telling a fib. This drawing was done by Herschel Honeycutt and sent to us ~ steve Kreitler, thanks Steve. A thousand pardons to Ken Ketner and the La_ex Rangers for not mentioning them as an FAC Squadron. I don't know how it happened but somehow they were by-passed in our listing of FAC Squadrons. If anyone li~es in their area and would like to join them please write to: Squadron #25, L$ex Rangers, Ken Ketner, 4305 93rd st., Lubbock, Tex. 79423. We have to report the passing of two more FACers. Warren Weith from Brooklyn, N.Y. and Burr Stanton of Louisville, Ky. Burr was the editor of the INMARC Newsletter. Our sympathy goes to their families and friends. They will be missed by all. Entries are coming in at a record breaking pace for the FAC-Nats, Mark VIII! At this time we have at least 30% of the seating capacity for the banquet al ready taken. So if you are going to be there we strongly urge you to get your entry in as soon as you can so as not to be disappointed. This will also help us out by reducing the work load later on when it really becomes hectic. An entry blank is on the back page for your use. We will have more info as to place of registration and housing in the next issue as well as a map of the college campus.
