Participants had a rich treat of events to participate in, from a variety of worship experiences to thought provoking presentations and discussions... plus some fabulous hospitality from the Dunedin North Parish. Topics included: Anglo-Catholicism in Aotearoa NZ, Catholic and Charismatic, Anglo Catholic work with children and young people, Discipleship/ongoing catechesis, Anglo Catholic Spirituality today, Sacramental Theology and Anglo Catholics & the Rein of God/Community Work -see previous article about Fr. Mark Beale, pictured above: http://www.anglicantaonga.org.nz/news/tikanga_pakeha/beale) On the opening night Bishop Victoria Matthews (recently retired from the Diocese of Christchurch) - compered a panel that included personal testimonies and scholarly discourse. As part of this, Dr Tony Fitchett spoke about Henry Lascelles Jenner who many will know of as the first proposed Bishop of Dunedin but who was never officially appointed. A transcript of this address is attached below - of particular interest as the Diocese nears its 150th birthday. Jenner was also a gifted musician and composer, and wrote the hymn We Love The Place O God (Tune - Quam Dilecta).
