MONTHLY STATISTICAL REPORT for the Month of January 2019 MONTHLY STATISTICAL REPORT SUMMARY for the month of January 2019 BALTIMORE/WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL THURGOOD MARSHALL AIRPORT (BWI) COMMENTARY AND ANALYSIS JANUARY 2019 1) BWI Airport experienced nearly 1.8 million passengers in January 2019, a decrease of 5.2%. 2) Total cargo at the airport increased 17.3% for the month and has increased 15.9% for the past 12 months. 3) International passenger traffic continues to surge with a 12.2% increase in January 2019. 4) Spirit Airlines increased passengers by over 14% in January 2019. From our review, we updated the carrier groupings as follows: AIR CARRIER NEW REPORTING GROUP Kalitta Air LLC Group III Gulf & Caribbean Cargo Group I - $20 million to $100 million Kalitta Charters II Group I - $20 million to $100 million Tradewinds Airlines Group I - $20 million to $100 million Carriers are grouped according to the operating revenue boundaries contained in Section 04 of Part 241. The current reporting levels are: Group III Over $1 billion Group II Over $100 million to $1 billion Group I $100 million and under Subgroups: Group I - $20 million to $100 million Group I - Under $20 million Changes in the reporting groups will become effective January 1, 2012.
