Nexter demonstrates its status as the leading French systems integrator. Through the creation of KNDS, Nexter, together with its partner KMW, occupy a position as the leader in the Franco-German and European land defense industry. This global meeting is a privileged moment for the company, allowing Nexter to display its entire range. As the main supplier of the French army, Nexter shows its commitment in the SCORPION program. The JAGUAR (EBRC) will be exhibited on the Nexter and Defense Ministry booth for the first time, alongside his partner in the EBMR program, the GRIFFON (VBMR). The renovated LECLERC tank will complete this static display on the Nexter booth. The latest vehicle of the SCORPION range, the Lightweight VBMR, will be presented in a full size holographic animation. Finally, Nexter's SEMBA embedded simulation solution will be shown on the static display of the Ministry of Defense (zone Vulcain). The other systems and products from the Group will also be presented: the VBCI APC [Troop Transport], the CAESAR® family range, with the 6x6 and 8x8 versions and the 105LG1 artillery system. • Press Release
SCORPION: GRIFFON command post is qualified November 23, 2020 On 13 November 2020, the French Delegation for Armaments (DGA) qualified the command post vehicle (EPC) variant of the GRIFFON vehicle. At the same time, the first examples are being submitted for acceptance by the DGA's quality department at the Roanne site. Therefore, the three first GRIFFON EPC have been delivered to the Army technical section (STAT) which will continue the operational evaluation of this equipment with its rapid deployment within the regiments in sight. The GME (temporary grouping of companies) EBMR (Engins Blindés Multi-Rôles) comprised of Nexter, Arquus and Thales is fully mobilized on the production of the first 20 series GRIFFON EPCs to be presented to verification operations by the end of 2020. Ultimately, the SCORPION program calls for the acquisition of 333 units of this variant, half of which will be delivered by 2025. As a reminder, the SCORPION program aims to modernize the Army's combat capabilities and in particular to improve command through new information resources. The GRIFFON EPC can accommodate a pilot and a gunner in the front, and five soldiers in the rear of the vehicle. From an external point of view, the silhouette of the EPC does not differ from the VTT Félin variant (troop transport vehicle). Only the armament changes, with the integration on the roof of a new-generation T2 remotely operated turret armed with a 7.62mm caliber. Inside, on the other hand, the GRIFFON EPC is fully equipped to accommodate a command post: communication means, large screens, a board and a printer.

All Rights Reserved. 2 Introduction As part of Janes’ support of the New Hampshire Aerospace and Defense Export Consortium (NHADEC), Janes will provide a series of ten high-level market reports on subjects of NHADEC’s choosing as well as two in-depth market segment reports. This market segment market report focuses on the soldier modernization market and is comprised of the following elements: 1. Overview of the main aspects of soldier modernization 2. Ongoing programs 3. Market forecast 2021-2025 Copyright © 2021 Jane's Group UK Limited. All Rights Reserved. Soldier modernization evolution 3 1990s-2000 2000s-2010 2010s-2020 2030s • Future soldiers programs have been in the making for decades, although the concept only started reaching maturity in the 1990s with the advent of France’s FELIN or the US Land Warrior and Objective Force Warrior. In the 1990s, most projects were still heavily influenced by Cold War type engagement scenarios with a strong focus on mechanized infantry. Technological ambitions were huge and envisioned the use of airburst type combined weapons by “super soldiers” fully networked, heavily armed, capable of dissimulating through adaptive camouflage and holograms and able to live of the land thanks to genetically altered seeds able to turn into edible vegetables in hours. • Of the different programs launched in the 1990s, only FELIN reached maturity, albeit in a much different form than originally conceived. The system started to be fielded by the end of the 2000s and made its debut in operations in Afghanistan in 2011.
