IMPORTANT APPLICATION DEADLINES: January – March 2021

1st Year University Admission for current HS students applying for September

UBC: Admission deadline for all programs is January 15th, 2021. The early application deadline is December 1st, 2020.

SFU: Application deadline for admission to ALL programs is January 31, 2021

UVIC: Application deadline for all programs [except Nursing] is now January 31, 2021

UNBC: Early Entrance Award Application deadline is December 15. Program deadlines fall between January 15 and March 31. Many programs accept late applications. We require self-declared grade 12 grades upon application.

CAPILANO: Refer to www.capilanou.ca/programs for information on program deadlines

QUEST: Recommended application deadline is February 15, 2021. Quest will continue to process applications on a rolling basis after this date until the class is full.

Emily Carr University of Art + Design: Admission deadline is January 15 to all programs. Given the circumstances of COVID-19, we will do everything we can to ensure applicants are evaluated fairly and flexibly. In regard to Quarter System, please ensure applicants send their grade 11 transcripts which we will use to evaluate academic eligibility.

Nursing Program Admission

UVIC/CAMOSUN: Students applying to UVIC Nursing must apply through one of our partner colleges. The deadline for students applying to the /UVic BSN program for September 2020 is December 15 at noon.

UNBC: Applicants apply to the Northern Collaborative Baccalaureate Nursing Program (NCBNP) to our partner colleges using EducationPlannerBC. Prince George and Quesnel: . Terrace: . Applications must be received by our partner colleges by March 31 and all supporting documents by April 15.

New for 2021 is the Northern Baccalaureate Nursing Program (NBNP). Students must have completed 60 credits of specific and general postsecondary coursework before applying directly to UNBC’s Peace River-Liard Campus through EPBC. The application deadline for the NBNP is January 15. Required documents can be submitted after this deadline, but an application will not be reviewed until all required documents are received.

COLLEGE OF NEW CALEDONIA/UNBC: CNC offers years 1 and 2 of this program. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2021 and all supporting documentation must be submitted by April 30, 2021.

OKANAGAN COLLEGE: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Years 1 and 2) – January 15, 2021

THOMPSON RIVERS UNIVERSITY: Application deadline for BSN – January 31, 2021

UNIVERSITY OF THE FRASER VALLEY: Application deadline for BSN – January 31, 2021

COLLEGE OF THE ROCKIES: Deadline to apply to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is February 15th and all the academic requirements, including a CASPer Assessment, must be submitted by February 28th.

COAST MOUNTAIN COLLEGE: Applications must be received by March 31 and all supporting documents by April 15. [Due to the quarter system change we anticipate some changes to this. We follow UNBCs lead and we will not know what changes will be made until they do]

NORTH ISLAND COLLEGE: Bachelor of Science in Nursing applications are open from Oct 1, 2020 – Dec 17, 2020 for the Fall 2021 cohort. Practical Nursing Diploma applications open on Oct 1, 2020.

KWANTLEN: Currently accepting first year BSN (Health Foundations) applications from October 1 to November 1, 2020. Supporting documents must be received by March 1. DOUGLAS: Applications for Winter 2022 intake will only be open February 1 - 3, 2021.

SELKIRK COLLEGE: Nursing Degree Program: Application deadline December 14, 2020, and all supporting documents must be received by January 15, 2021. Rural Pre- Medicine Program: Application deadline March 31, 2021. An application received after March 31 will be reviewed, and qualified applicants may be placed on a wait list.

LANGARA: Current HS students are not eligible for BSN admission; application deadline for BSN for those eligible [requires 5 specific 1st Year courses] is January 31.

Engineering Transfer Programs

Thompson Rivers University [TRU] o Engineering Transfer (Year 1 & 2) application deadline is April 30th, 2021 o Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering application deadline is April 30th,2021

University of the Fraser Valley [UFV] o Engineering Transfer & and all other selective admission programs is January 31, 2021

Kwantlen Polytechnic University [KPU] o 1st Year Engineering at KPU is a two-semester program designed for direct transfer to second year engineering at UBC, UVic, or SFU. The application deadline is March 1st. Coast Mountain College o Engineer Transfer – 1-Year Certificate does not have a firm application deadline

Information Provided by Member Institutions – Current as of October 2020 DEADLINE TO SUBMIT MARKS FOR ONLINE COURSES

Capilano University: Online courses are treated like any other course. For early registration, interim grades needed in late May, final grades for final admission review needed early August.

Emily Carr University of Art + Design: Interim marks - Jan 15th. Final marks - Aug 15th

Kwantlen Polytechnic University: Gets final ministry transcripts by the end of July; then allows approx. 2 weeks in which to submit supplemental transcripts, so this would be mid-August.

SFU: Students must complete online courses by June 30th, along with the rest of their classes. Thompson Rivers University: For online courses, will accept a letter from the institution stating that the course is currently in progress (preferably with an interim grade if possible). For non- competitive programs (BA, BSc, BBA, BCS, BFA) only require transcript once course is complete.

UBC: If a student wants the course to be included in the calculation of their admissions average, it needs to be completed by February 1. If a student is simply completing the course for prerequisite purposes, it can be completed by June 30. These deadlines are subject to change as new developments arise surrounding the current impacts of COVID-19.

University of the Fraser Valley: We need to know about any online courses ASAP, but we need to know the final grades before the first day of class.

UVIC: Students applying for September 2021 must complete online courses by May 31, 2021.

College of the Rockies: Final Gr. 12 marks [in-class or online] – final official transcripts must be submitted by the end of July for all programs other than nursing.

Langara College: For high school grades, we will be doing the TRAX download in mid-May.

Northern Lights College: Typically, we ask Grade 12 students to submit their final grades to us two weeks before their program starts. There are some exceptions for dual credit.

Okanagan College: For all programs [except Nursing] that start in September, all secondary school courses must be completed by June 30 and grades received by late July/early August.

UNBC: Interim Grades: must be provided before an admission decision can be granted. Final Grades: Nursing: April 15; all other programs: August 15.
