Among these five countries, Nepal has relatively fewer establishments.

Nepal : 31.6 establishments per 1,000 persons Japan: 45.4 Indonesia: 104.6 Sri Lanka: 50.3 Cambodia: 34.6

Among these five countries, Nepal has relatively fewer establishments for its population size.

This is probably due to geographical disadvantage such as upcountry and mountainous.

Among these five countries, the establishment density of Nepal is relatively lower for its area size. This is probably due to geographical disadvantage such as upcountry and mountainous.

International Comparison of Sex Ratio of Number of Persons Engaged

Nepal: 150.0 (males per 100 females) Japan: 125.7 Indonesia: 183.9 Sri Lanka: 154.0 Cambodia: 63.4

Among these five countries, although the sex ratio in Nepal seems average, it is not always fair in respect to gender equality. International Comparison of Number of Persons Engaged per Establishment

Nepal: 3.7 persons per establishment Japan: 9.9 Indonesia: 2.6 Sri Lanka: 2.8 Cambodia: 3.3

Among these five countries, Nepal has relatively more persons engaged per establishment. This is probably due to fewer street businesses in Nepal.

Kathmandu has a gigantic size of the number of establishments, and occupies 13.4% to the total number of Nepal. Other four districts are located in plain areas.

1. Kathmandu: 313.9 establishments/km2 2. Bhaktapur: 164.9 3. Lalitpur: 70.2 4. Rupandehi: 28.2 5. Sunsari: 25.0

The first three districts are located in the Kathmandu Valley and the remaining last two districts lies in the southern plain areas of the country.

1. Kathmandu: 575,003 persons 2. Rupandehi: 163,045 3. Morang: 143,386 4. Lalitpur: 139,686 5. Jhapa: 129,180

Kathmandu occupies 16.9% to the total number of Nepal. These five districts occupies more than one third of the total number of persons engaged in Nepal.

1. Bara: 301.9 (males per 100 females) 2. Rautahat: 300.5 3. Parsa: 281.5 4. Kapilbastu: 268.5 5. Mahottari: 264.4

These five districts are located in the south side of the country where is in plain areas. The higher ratios may be due to the fact that large proportion of female may be involved in agricultural occupation in these districts.

In Lalitpur and Kathmandu, many enterprises headquarter there. In Sarlahi, there are some famous sugar mill factories which are employing thousands of people including farmers.

Kathmandu: 79,607 establishments : 28,222 Lalitpur: 18,373 Bharatpur: 17,066 : 10,383

(Butwal: 10,141)

Kathmandu Metropolitan City has a gigantic size of the number of establishments, and occupies 8.6% to the total number of Nepal.
