As a group we examined the Heritage Area from conception, designation, progressive establishment and growth and provide our resulting vision and strategic recommendations to expand and propel the corridor to greater capacity of enhancement, success and regionalization. The accomplishments of the Ohio & Erie Canalway Association, Ohio Canal Corridor and Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition, (Canalway Organizations), various other entities, visioning partners and ensuing forged partnerships are numerous and inspiring. These partners are leading the Heritage Area to establish a renewed identity, to regeneration of Northeast Ohio cities and towns and proliferation of the tourism industry, utilizing the canal legacy of regional and national prominence.
