From 1838 to 1893, the Church in the old Indian Territory was committed to the ecclesiastical jurisdiction, first of the Missionary Bishop of the Southwest, and later of the Bishop of Arkansas. The General Convention of the Church which convened at Philadelphia on August 19, 1835, created the Missionary District of the Southwest, which embraced the States of Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and the Republic of Texas. The Indian Territory, embracing what is today the State of Oklahoma, save the panhandle, and which had been created by a recent Act of Congress, was also included within this district. The Rev. Leonidas Polk,1 the young rector of St. Peter's Church at Columbia, Tennessee, was consecrated the first Missionary Bishop of the newly created district, on December 9, 1838, at Cincinnati, and served as such until October 16, 1841, when he became the initial Bishop of the Diocese of Louisiana. -

FinalProject 25/08/2018, 930 PM COGS108 Final Project Group Members: Yanyi Wang Ziwen Zeng Lingfei Lu Yuhan Wang Yuqing Deng Introduction and Background Movie revenue is one of the most important measure of good and bad movies. Revenue is also the most important and intuitionistic feedback to producers, directors and actors. Therefore it is worth for us to put effort on analyzing what factors correlate to revenue, so that producers, directors and actors know how to get higher revenue on next movie by focusing on most correlated factors. Our project focuses on anaylzing all kinds of factors that correlated to revenue, for example, genres, elements in the movie, popularity, release month, runtime, vote average, vote count on website and cast etc. After analysis, we can clearly know what are the crucial factors to a movie's revenue and our analysis can be used as a guide for people shooting movies who want to earn higher renveue for their next movie. They can focus on those most correlated factors, for example, shooting specific genre and hire some actors who have higher average revenue. Reasrch Question: Various factors blend together to create a high revenue for movie, but what are the most important aspect contribute to higher revenue? What aspects should people put more effort on and what factors should people focus on when they try to higher the revenue of a movie? http://localhost:8888/nbconvert/html/Desktop/MyProjects/Pr_085/FinalProject.ipynb?download=false Page 1 of 62 FinalProject 25/08/2018, 930 PM Hypothesis: We predict that the following factors contribute the most to movie revenue. -

MAINTAINING INJUSTICE: LITERARY REPRESENTATIONS OF THE LEGAL SYSTEM C1400 DISSERTATION Presented in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree Doctor of Philosophy in the Graduate School of The Ohio State University By Kathleen Erin Kennedy, M.A. ***** The Ohio State University 2004 Dissertation Committee: Professor Richard Firth Green, Advisor Approved by Professor Lisa Kiser Professor Ethan Knapp ________________________ Professor Karen Winstead Department of English Copyright by Kathleen E. Kennedy 2004 ABSTRACT Medieval English authors often regard aspects of the legal system to be in conflict with an endemic cultural practice, maintenance. Simply put, maintenance was the payment of a form of salary to a high-level servant by a lord. The salary this servant (or affine) might receive could consist of cash-payments, gifts, or access to lucrative official positions, including the proxy enjoyment of some portion of the lord’s judicial rights. The more lavish the assistance, the more the lord honored the retainer. Obviously, the mutual ties of aid and loyalty between a lord and an affine threatened impartial justice at every level, and medieval authors strove both to bring its abuses to light, and to offer alternatives. Each of my chapters sheds light on how late fourteenth-century authors articulated the relationship between different legal institutions and maintenance. I begin by showing how the events in one of the more obscure Canterbury Tales, the Tale of Melibee, resemble a popular out-of-court settlement practice called accord. Chaucer blamed a contemporary practice called maintenance, the exchange of money and influence between a lord and a high-level servant, kinsman, or friend, for corrupting accords. -
