Material and Methods: A survey in cashew orchard was carried out in Béré, Poro, Hambol and Marahoué Regions. Buds showing attacks of Helopeltis sp were collected to isolate fungus. A biological control test was carried out in situ on Helopeltis sp in Dikodougou, Napié and Tortiya. -

Méthodologie et résultats : En octobre 2018, des prospections dans les vergers d’anacardier à Brobo au Centre de la Côte d’Ivoire ont permis de collecter 42 mâles et 42 femelles. Ces insectes ont été asphyxiés à l’aide d’éther éthylique avant d’être disséqués. Les mesures de la longueur du corps, de la tête, des antennes, des pièces buccales, du pronotum, des ailes, des pattes et du dernier sternite abdominal ont été prises avec un pied à coulisse. -

Unfortunately, this crop lodges a wide range of insect pests and diseases. Among these pests, Diastocera trifasciata, which causes the most damage in the orchard. This study was conducted in five orchards to describe and quantify the damage of D. trifasciata and monitor the dynamics of its population. Surveys were conducted in plots to assess the damage. The observations focused on the symptoms of insect attack in plantations. It appears that the damage is present in all the plantations visited. It is noted, a low attack rate in the Binzra 3 plantation with 46.67% of attacked trees and a high rate in the Binzra 4 plantation with 77.08% of trees attacked. The average attacked branches oscillates between 0.90 ± 0.09 and 2.30 ± 0.14 branches according to plantations with average diameters of severed branches ranging from 15.77 to 16.66 cm. -

Its nuts represent an export opportunity for Africa and an attractive economic alternative for producing countries. However, several abiotic and biotic factors compromise its productivity. Insects‟ pests such as Mecocorynus loripes, Apate terebrans, Helopeltis spp., Pseudotherapus wayi, Pseudococcus longispinus, Anoplocnemis curvipes are the most harmful to cashew plantation. Anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides followed by bacterial blight due to Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. anacardii and powdery mildew caused by Oidium anacardii are the main damaging diseases. The pestalotiosis insited by Pestalotia heterocornis and rust caused by Cryptosporiopsis spp. are minor.
