3 Know this my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger. James 1:19 In these times of continued change and uncertainty it is so important for us to pull together to see what we can do to help us set down new roots. As Ministry Area Leader I will be approaching people to form the Ministry Area Team. This will be the team that deals with worship and liturgy. These are steps forward that will make life easier for us all. It is easy for churches to feel that they are being left out and not having the services that they want. Rachael and I cannot help if we are not told. Last month I asked churches to look at what they would like going into the future and I am grateful to the few who have come forwards. I want to hear you, so I can take on board your needs, wants and hopefully allay your fears. Communication is the key to anything working. We see wonderful pictures and write ups about what is going on in our Ministry Area and I hope that more churches will be forthcoming with news, however big or small. This is a brand new start for us all, which is an amazing opportunity for to us to gather, grow and go as it says in the Diocesan prayer. On another matter many of you will know that our beloved little dog, Scrumpy, suffered a stroke a few Sundays ago. He has taken medication supplied by a wonderful vet who came out at a moment’s notice. He has made a remarkable recovery but we are attempting to suggest to him that he slows down a bit. I hope and pray that this summer brings you joy and the love of God as we all look to the future and open our hearts and minds to the possibilities ahead of us.

Recipe: Courgette and Dolcellate Soup Ingredients: - 115 g Dolcellate or - 2 tbsp olive oil Gorgonzola - 1 tbsp butter - 1 tspn dried oregano - 1 med onion, roughly chopped - 1 pint veg stock - 900 g (2 lbs) courgettes, - ½ pt single cream sliced (thickness of pound coin) - salt and black pepper Method: Heat butter and oil in a large pan, over a medium heat, until foaming. Add chopped onion and fry gently for 5 mins, stirring frequently. The onion should be softened but do not allow to brown. Add the sliced courgettes and oregano, salt and pepper to taste. You don’t need much salt as the cheese is salty!!!! I used a scant teaspoon. Courgette Soup Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently to prevent sticking, for 10 minutes. Pour in the stock, bring to boil. Lower heat, half cover pan, and simmer gently, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes. Add the cheese and stir until it’s melted. Process the soup using a blender. Add two thirds of the cream and stir over a low heat. Don’t allow it to boil! Pour into preheated bowls and swirl on the remaining cream. If you have any cheese and oregano left over just sprinkle a bit over. Serves 4. (Recipe from www.allotment-garden.org )
