Plymouth as the largest conurbation on the route. Table A1.1 below gives the top ten largest conurbations, with populations taken from the 2011 census and national rank. Table A1.2 below lists the links on the route that have a freight proportion in excess of 20% of the total traffic flow, along with their national ranking. The main report describes maintenance contracts in place covering the route and that Area 2 is managed by Skanska through the new style Asset Support Contract (ASC). Ken & Hazel have been benefactors of SPSCC for some time, particularly in giving the membership the opportunity of attending some Jaguar events. As most of you know, the Halls are out and out Jaguar people and own some really mouth-watering examples of the marque. We look forward to seeing them at many of our events. Sunday 21st January Lunch at Lewinnick Lodge, Newquay. This is the first time that Joan & I had visited Lewinnick Lodge for lunch. The Lodge is situated in the most spectacular location possible, on a cliff side overlooking the roaring Atlantic. Roland and Wendy Calvert-Potter, who organised the lunch had wonderful support with thirty-one attendees. It was very gratifying that Dorianne joined us and we hope we will see her again at other events. I always enjoy a good Sunday roast and the one served at Lewinnick was exemplary. The Yorkshire puddings were truly outstanding, almost a meal in themselves. Delicious. A measure of the portions served was the fact that so few partook of a dessert, a rare SPSCC phenomenon indeed. This was our first event for the New Year and it was a delight to see so many of our fellow members joining in again. The afternoon route was planned by Mike & Sue Bryant and took us around the Headland at Newquay and because of the blustery nature of the weather, the waves were spectacularly high. Our Morgan was almost demolished going up Tower Road, when a female emerged from a side road without looking.

    DIRECTIONS TO WOOLGARDEN FROM THE A30 WESTBOUND (M5/Exeter) About 2 miles beyond Launceston, take the A395 towards Camelford and Bude. After 10 minutes you come to Hallworthy, turn left here, opposite the garage and just before the Wilsey Down pub: - Continue straight on for 2 miles. The postcode centre (PL15 8PT) is near a T-junction with a triangular patch of grass in the middle. Continue round to the left at this point: - Continue for about a quarter mile down a small dip and up again. You will the come to a cream- coloured house and bungalow on the right. The track to Woolgarden is immediately after this on the same side, drive a short distance down the track and you have arrived! DIRECTIONS TO WOOLGARDEN FROM CORNWALL AND PLYMOUTH From Bodmin, Mid and West Cornwall: Follow the A30 towards Launceston. Exit the A30 at Five Lanes, as you descend from Bodmin Moor, then follow the directions below. From Plymouth & SE Cornwall: Follow the A38 to Saltash then the A388 through Callington, then soon afterwards fork left onto the B2357, signposted Bodmin. (Or from Liskeard direction, take the B3254 towards Launceston, then turn left onto the B3257 at Congdons Shop.) Then at Plusha join the A30 towards Bodmin and then come off again the first exit, Five Lanes, then follow the directions below. In the centre of Five Lanes (Kings Head pub), follow signs to Altarnun and Camelford: - Continue straight on, through Altarnun, for about 1.5 miles, then turn left at the junction, signposted Camelford. Soon afterward, keep the Rinsing Sun pub on your left:- After a mile, turn right at the crossroads, signposted St Clether and Hallworthy: - And after another mile, go straight across the crossroad: - A half mile further on, you will pass Tregonger farm on your right, and then see a cream coloured bungalow on your left.

INTRODUCTION River water quality is monitored in 34 catchments in the region. Samples are collected at a minimum frequency of once a month from 422 watercourses at 890 locations within the Regional Monitoring Network. Each sample is analysed for a range of chemical and physical determinands. These sample results are stored in the Water Quality Archive. A computerised system assigns a quality class to each monitoring location and associated upstream river reach. This report contains the results of the 1992 river water quality classifications for each determinand used in the classification process. 2. RIVER WATER QUALITY ASSESSMENT The assessment of river water quality is by comparison of current water quality against River Quality Objectives (RQO's) which have been set for many river lengths in the region. Various partners drew up a 20 Year Flood Action Plan. Somerset Rivers Authority was launched in January 2015 to oversee that Plan and do the extra work that long experience has shown Somerset needs. There is no single answer to Somerset’s many flooding problems, and different parts of the county have different needs. That is why the SRA was set up as a partnership. Different organisations are limited in what they can do individually, but as SRA partners they can get more done by acting collectively.
