The Wild took seven of PREVIOUSLY a possible eight points from the Stars winning three out-of-four games in Cedar Park, Texas. Their only loss came in a 4-3 ON THE POND overtime loss on Tuesday night. Chicago has been rolling recently as well, with wins in six of their last seven games. Their most recent contest on Apr. 7, was a 4-3 loss in Rockford to the IceHogs. • The Wild’s three-game winning streak is their longest unbeaten streak since Feb. 22 to Feb. 29, 2020. STREAKING • The #12 overall pick from the 2019 NHL Draft, Matt Boldy, is set to make his professional debut for Iowa. • Iowa’s penalty kill killed a franchise-record 21 straight power plays, tying the mark set Nov. 7 to Nov. 16, 2018. • Goaltender Hunter Jones is sporting a three-game winning streak and earned CCM/AHL Player of the Week honors. • Forward Tanner Jeannot tied the Wolves’ franchise record point streak of 12 games with an assist on Wednesday. MORE • The Wolves have won all four games this season against the Wild and outscored Iowa 24-5. STREAKING • Jeannot is also on an eight-game goal streak and is one goal away from tying AHL-best over the last 11 seasons. • Rookie forward Phil Tomasino is riding a four-game point streak, with seven points over that stretch. Prior to today’s game, the Carolina Hurricanes loaned veteran goaltender Petr Mrazek to the Wolves as part of a conditioning stint. The 29-year-old Ostrava, Czech Republic, native entered this season as Carolina’s top goaltender, but he has not played since injuring his right thumb on Jan. 30 against 8-4-2-0 12-2-0-1 the Dallas Stars. Mrazek, who required surgery, owns a 2-1-0 record, a 0.99 goals-against average and a .955 save percentage in four games for the Canes this season. Once that contest was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns, the Wolves find them back on the road for four more. REGULAR-SEASON SERIES 2-0-0-0 Cleveland | 0-1-0-1 Chicago If the Wolves get to play all four games (no sure thing in the pandemic), then this eight-game run LAST MEETING March 6, 2021 will mark the franchise’s longest stretch of consecutive road games since the 2014-15 season. That’s when head coach John Anderson’s crew visited Milwaukee, Grand Rapids, Iowa, Utica, Rochester and Adirondack Nov. 2-21 and posted a 5-3-1 record. This weekend’s trip offers the Central Division-leading Wolves a chance to turn the tables on the 11-7-1-0 15-4-0-2 Monsters. When Cleveland visited the Wolves Training Facility on March 5-6, the Wolves owned an 8-1- 0-0 record before suffering a 4-3 shootout loss and a 3-1 defeat to the Monsters.
