The only Wolves team Record Win % that has averaged more than 4 per game is the 2006-07 crew that paced the AHL with 4.14 per game. Cleveland 0-1-0-1 .250 Grand Rapids 4-1-0-0 .800 Prior to this season, the Wolves hadn’t introduced a new uniform number since the 2013- Iowa 5-1-0-0 .833 14 season: when Jake Chelios was given No. 42 before making his AHL debut on April 11, Rockford 6-1-0-1 .813 8 2014, at Iowa. But this year has featured so many different players coming through the Wolves organization — a combination of COVID-19 protocols and the Wolves serving as partners with RECORD BY MONTH the Carolina Hurricanes AND Nashville Predators — equipment manager Ryan Shoufer has worked Record Win % overtime to accommodate everyone. So far, the Wolves have debuted eight new jersey numbers. The February 8-1-0-0 .889 March 4-1-0-1 .750 latest came last Saturday when rookie forward Zach Solow wore 53 and PTO signee Diego Cuglietta April 3-2-0-1 .583 donned 54. IN OVERTIME (1-0) Defenseman David Warsofsky handed out two assists in last Saturday’s 4-3 shootout loss at Rockford, which gave him 11 assists in 11 games this season. He’s the only Goaltender Saves-Shots (3-3) SV% Antoine Bibeau (1-0) 3-3 1.000 11 defenseman who’s averaging at least 1 assist per game this season (minimum 10 assists). Connor Ingram (0-0) 5-5 1.000 If we dropped that minimum to 9, then he’d be joined on the list by former Wolves defenseman Jeremy Davies, who rang up 9 assists in 9 games before being recalled by the Nashville Predators, for whom he has contributed 1 assist and a +1 plus/minus rating in his first 15 NHL games. IN THE SHOOTOUT (0-2) Forward Tanner Jeannot scored Monday night against the Chicago Blackhawks to earn Shooter Goals-Chances (0-5) SH% his second NHL goal in five games since being recalled by Nashville (NHL). In essence, Dominik Bokk 0-1 .000 12 Jeannot has maintained the hot streak he built with the Wolves. The 23-year-old holds Patrick Harper 0-1 .000 Tommy Novak 0-1 .000 a 12-game point streak (10G, 11A), which ranks as the longest active streak in the AHL. Jeannot also David Cotton 0-2 .000 owns the AHL’s fifth eight-game goal streak since the 2012-13 season. If Jeannot suits up for the Wolves again, he can tie Brett Sterling’s franchise record for the longest goal streak. Sterling Goaltender Saves-Shots (2-5) SV% produced 13 goals during his nine-game spree from Dec. 2 to Dec. 29, 2006. Jeannot also can tie the Antoine Bibeau (0-1) 2-3 .667 AHL’s longest streak over the last nine years. Norfolk’s Tyler Johnson reeled off a nine-game goal Connor Ingram (0-1) 0-2 .000 streak March 3-24, 2012.

AHLTV.COM GOING FOR GREATNESS 2020-21 As the Chicago Wolves and the Rockford IceHogs wrap up their four-game set over a 12-day stretch TALE OF THE TAPE (the Wolves also found time to face the Grand Rapids Griffins once), it’s intriguing to chart how the current Wolves compare with some of the great teams of the franchise’s past. REGULAR-SEASON SERIES 0-6-0-0 Rockford | 6-0-0-0 Chicago With their 4-2 win over the IceHogs Saturday night in Hoffman Estates, the Wolves improved their LAST MEETING April 3, 2021 record to 14-2-0-1. The only Wolves team that can match that is the 2007-08 crew that led the American Hockey League from start to finish on the way to hoisting the Calder Cup. John Anderson’s 2007-08 squad actually rolled out to a 13-0-1-0 start — their only defeat a 1-0 overtime loss to a Milwaukee Admirals team backstopped by Pekka Rinne. They then dropped two out of three 6-12-1-0 14-2-0-1 games, which moved them to the 14-2-1-0 record that equals the current team. SERIES LEADERS While the 2007-08 and the 2021 teams boast the same record, it’s not easy to compare the two — and not just because of this year’s shorter schedule with fewer opponents and less travel. 2018-19 Chicago Wolves Game Notes CHICAGO AT IOWA APRIL 12, 2019 7 p.m. AHL TV 2018-19 POTENTIAL PLAYOFF OPPONENTS The Chicago Wolves have controlled their own fate when it comes to the postseason, clinching a playoff TALE OF THE TAPE spot on March 29 with a victory in Grand Rapids before securing the Central Division title for the third REGULAR-SEASON SERIES year in a row on April 6 with a win over Colorado. The only question mark now is the Wolves’ first-round 3-2-2-0 Iowa | 4-2-1-0 Chicago opponent. Six teams can still wind up as the No. 4 seed as no other team in the Central Division has claimed a spot in the race for the Calder Cup. Grand Rapids sits in second with 87 points with two games remaining and needs just one point to reach the postseason. Milwaukee’s 84 points are good for third and its magic number to clinch a playoff berth is four, but an overtime loss to Rockford on Tuesday put the Admirals in a vulnerable position with the 35-26-8-5 rest of the field so close on their heels. 43-21-5-4 LEADING SCORERS IN SERIES Iowa moved into fourth with 83 points, just one point back from Milwaukee, with a win over Grand Rapids on Wednesday.
