Beginning with all high school level courses, all core subjects, whether passed or failed, are included in the computation. Unity considers core subjects to be Literature, Science, Math, History, Lan- guage, and Bible. Standard course grades reported on the transcript are not weighted. Advanced Placement course grade points are weighted 1.0 for the year. Honors courses are weighted 0.5 for the year. The GPA is calculated at the end of each school semester. At Unity, many 8th grade students will take Physical Science and Algebra I which are taught as high school level courses. Both courses are reported on the high school transcript and included in the GPA calculation.

Class Rank Class rank is determined by the numerical ordering (from highest to lowest) of student GPAs as calculated at the close of each semester for each year of high school.
