Dezember 1996 Ansprache des Präsidenten Universitätsprofessor Dr.Drs.h.c. Wolfgang Herrmann am Dies academicus 1996 (Zusammenfassung) „Die Universität ist eine Schule, aber eine einzigartige Schule.“ Mit Bezug auf ,Die Idee der Universität‘ von Karl Jaspers, verfaßt vor genau 50 Jahren, eröffnete TUM- Präsident Professor Herrmann seine ,Bilanzrede‘ beim dies academicus am 5. De- zember 1996. Er griff die Programmpunkte seiner Antrittsrede vom 7. Dezember 1995 auf und maß daran die Jahresbilanz, nicht ohne mit Optimismus in die Zukunft zu blicken. Präsident Herrmann zeigte auf, wie die Technische Universität München den Weg der Öffnung nach innen und außen beschreitet. Die Überwindung der oftmals strengen Fakultätsgrenzen, fachübergreifende Lehr- und Forschungsgebiete, neue Studienan- gebote ,zwischen den Fächern‘ rangieren bei ,Klarheit der Zwecke und Mittel‘ in der Agenda der Hochschule obenan. So hat der Akademische Senat soeben die Einrich- tung des neuen Studiengangs ,Restaurierung, Kunstwissenschaft und Konservie- rungstechnologie‘ beschlossen, um den in Europa einmaligen Standortvorteil Mün- chens zu nutzen. Die bisher eher handwerklich und künstlerisch ausgelegte Arbeits- richtung soll künftig naturwissenschaftlich-mathematisch fundiert werden. Auf die Kompetenzdichte durch die zahlreichen Sammlungen und Werkstätten in München, unterstützt durch das renommierte Doerner-Institut in der Alten Pinakothek, wies der Präsident besonders hin. Vorbehaltlich der Zustimmung durch das Kultusmini- sterium kann der neue Studiengang zum Wintersemester 1997/98 beginnen. Geplant sind ferner der Studiengang ,Chemie-Ingenieurwesen‘, u.a. mit dem Schwerpunkt Biotechnologie (Lehrstuhlumwidmung bereits erfolgt), sowie der Aufbau eines Lehr- und Forschungsgebietes, das sich mit der Chemie, Physik und Technologie von Bau- materialien befaßt. Der Akademische Senat hat auch die Bewertung der Lehrveranstaltungen durch die Studierenden als ,originäre Aufgabe der Universität‘ formuliert und den Fakultäten aufgegeben, erstmals in der dritten Januarwoche 1997 die Studentenbefragungen durchzuführen. Die TU München wird künftig im Jahresturnus auch einen Lehrbe- richt erstellen. Die Stellenbewirtschaftung soll nach den Worten des Präsidenten schrittweise durch ein Leistungsmodell gesteuert werden, das gleichgewichtig auf den Faktoren Forschung und Lehre aufbaut. Das vom Akademischen Senat beschlossene Bewertungsmodell (,Münchner Modell TUM‘) soll erstmals beim staatlich verordne- ten Stellenabbau der Jahre 1996 und folgende erprobt werden. Hinsichtlich der Öffnung der Hochschule nach außen nannte der Präsident die Berei- che Schule, Öffentlichkeit und Wirtschaft. Das ,TUM-Schülerprogramm‘ mit seinen Betreuungsprofessoren in über 200 Gymnasien und der verstärkten Studienberatung ist mit Schuljahresbeginn erfolgreich

    Christian Berger and Cine Reflect Lighting System By Annette Zoeh Christian Berger, AAC began working in 1968 for the Austrian broadcaster ORF. His many feature film credits include The White Ribbon, for which he was awarded Best Cinematography in 2009 by the Los Angeles Film Critics, New York Film Critics and in 2010 by the American Society of Cinematographers. Christian owns TTV Film Production Vienna and is a university professor in cinematography, art and visual expression at the Vi- enna Film Academy. In addition to shooting, Christian has de- voted a lot of time and effort designing his own lighting system, the Cine Reflect Lighting System (CRLS)—which he has used on many productions, including The White Ribbon. The CRLS system was presented the Innovation Award 2010 by the City of Vienna. Recently, Christian used his Cine Reflect Lighting System to il- luminate Bavaria Film’s biggest film project since Das Boot—the production of Ludwig II, directed by Peter Sehr and Marie Noelle. Art Director Christoph Kanter converted Hall 12 of Bavaria Film Studios into the famous Munich Residence, Wagnerian sets and Berg Castle interiors. Christian shot Ludwig II with ARRI Alexa in ARRIRAW using Leica Summilux C Primes. He commented, “Alexa was intuitive to work with, and it truly had at least a 13 T-stop dynamic range.
