Arranging a work event? Look at the pdf near the bottom of http://www. sustainability.manchester.ac.uk/food/ for tips & a list of where leftover food can go. Also see the 'Food disclaimer form' on that webpage. If food is ordered through the University’s Taste Manchester service, the team can ensure any leftover food from their orders is collected, & if possible, given to charity. When alternative University-approved catering suppliers are used from Unibuy, staff can contact & deliver leftover food to approved charities themselves. *Currently all UoM catering is asked to be in-house * The UoM Hospitality & Events Team no longer uses plastic packaging for delivered platters. 12 Wildlife & ity Biodivers

Despite our urban location, we have plenty of wildlife to watch & document across the campus & beyond To help local wildlife and biodiversity, do your bit for Citizen Science by adding your wildlife sightings to a database, helping to create a valuable resource. Think of it as crowdfunding but you’re giving data not money

Wildlife record databases you can contribute to include: UMAPIT (UoM-specific & species-specific, particularly interested in mammals, birds, amphibians & insects), http://www.sustainability.manchester.ac.uk/livingcampus/ staff/umapit/ , or

iNaturalist (useful for species identification help) https://www.inaturalist.org/ , or

any Greater Manchester wildlife sightings can be added via Excel, MapMate or Swift to https://www.gmwildlife.org.uk/wildlife_recording, Greater Manchester Local Record Centre's public access database, which also informs local planning decisions Watch out for planting sessions across the UoM which you can help with

Walk the UoM Tree Trail, see http://www.sustainability. manchester.ac.uk/livingcampus/staff/tree-trail/

Greater Manchester is planting 3 million more trees. Learn more at https://www.cityoftrees.org.uk/
