The Remix Awards host: Sean “Hollywood” Hamilton Sean is currently one of the most listened to radio personalities in the country, heard on 120 radio stations in the U.S. and around the world including iHeartRadio. His nationally syndicated radio show, The Remix Top30 Countdown is currently North Americas most listened to Mix- Show. The show is a dance based EDM music program co-hosted by some of the biggest music celebrities in the industry. The RT30 is heard weekly and distributed by The 2016 Remix Awards will take place during Miami Music Week, in its 32nd consecutive year, is a pivotal platform for the advancement of the industry.     NIELSEN MUSIC YEAR-END REPORT CANADA 2016 NIELSEN MUSIC YEAR-END REPORT CANADA 2016 Copyright © 2017 The Nielsen Company 1 Welcome to the annual Nielsen Music Year End Report for Canada, providing the definitive 2016 figures and charts for the music industry. And what a year it was! The year had barely begun when we were already saying goodbye to musical heroes gone far too soon. David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Glenn Frey, Leon Russell, Maurice White, Prince, George Michael ... the list goes on. And yet, despite the sadness of these losses, there is much for the industry to celebrate. Music consumption is at an all-time high. Overall consumption of album sales, song sales and audio on-demand streaming volume is up 5% over 2015, fueled by an incredible 203% increase in on-demand audio streams, enough to offset declines in sales and return a positive year for the business. 2016 also marked the highest vinyl sales total to date. It was an incredible year for Canadian artists, at home and abroad. Eight different Canadian artists had #1 albums in 2016, led by Drake whose album Views was the biggest album of the year in Canada as well as the U.S. The Tragically Hip had two albums reach the top of the chart as well, their latest release and their 2005 best of album, and their emotional farewell concert in August was something we’ll remember for a long time. Justin Bieber, Billy Talent, Céline Dion, Shawn Mendes, Leonard Cohen and The Weeknd also spent time at #1. Break out artist Alessia Cara as well as accomplished superstar Michael Buble also enjoyed successes this year.

Das liegt auch in diesem Jahr am Audio-Strea- ming – einerseits. Andererseits liegt es am weiter verhältnismäßig stabilen physischen Markt, der Ende 2016 62,1 Prozent der Umsätze ausmachte. Die CD allein erreicht trotz ei- nes Minus von knapp 9 Prozent immer noch rund 54 Prozent Umsatzanteil im Gesamt- markt, Vinyl kommt durch ein Plus von 40 Prozent inzwischen auf 4,4 Prozent. Daneben liegt das Audio-Streaming bei inzwischen 24,1 Prozent Umsatzanteil am Gesamtmarkt, die Downloads liegen bei noch 12,2 Prozent. The methods used were interviews with performing disc jockeys, observations at various bars, and live music venues. Interviews include both women and men from varying ages and racial/ethnic groups. Cultural studies/popular culture approaches are utilized as the theoretical framework, with the aid of concepts including resistance, hegemony, power, and subcultures. Results show difference of DJ preference between analog and digital formats. Gender differences are evident in performing DJ's experiences on and off the field due to patriarchy in the DJ scene. ii ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS First and Foremost, I would like to thank my parents and immediate family for their unconditional support and love. First published 2021 2021 Adam de Paor-Evans Cover graff by Remser Remser started writing in 1997 after seeing dubs and pieces by Sceo, Fixer, Teach, and G-Sane at the M5 pillar spot in Exeter. His school bus used to loop around Sannerville Way and the pieces could be seen from the road as well as the train. A couple of years prior to this, Remser’s mum randomly bought him a copy of Spraycan Art, and he knew straight away that it was something he wanted to be part of. In early 2000 he moved to London and hooked up with the DNK/CWR boys, they were way better than him and super-active but this experience pushed him to develop his style and learn about all aspects of graffiti writing.
