GARY SLAIGHT PAT HOLIDAY J.J. JOHNSTON DAVID CORIAT Allan Slaight announces the appointment of Gary Slaight as President and Chief Executive Officer of Standard Broadcasting Corporation Limited. It's true he is the owner's son but there's a general consensus, as Gary approaches 50, that he deserves a shot. (After all, he's been President of Standard Radio Inc. since 1987; he is allowed to keep that title, too.) In that Gary was wearing thin because he also managed CFRB and The MIX in Toronto, he wants it known that he recently announced two major appointments: Pat Holiday is now Vice-President and General Manager of CFRB 1010 AM. This comes at agood time because Holiday had pretty well worn out his welcome after four years as manager of Standard's two Calgary stations, CKMX and CJAY 92.

J.J. Johnston is now Vice-President and General Manager of The MIX 99.9. As the word "beg" may be abit harsh, let's just say that Johnston has finally reached his goal after slugging it out in the program trenches for five years with Standard Radio.

A nervous David Coriat keeps his present title of Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer.
