PDF Aberffraw Aberffraw Mae Aberffraw ("y Berffro" ar lafar yn lleol) yn bentref ar Aberffraw arfordir gorllewinol Ynys Môn, rhwng Rhosneigr a Llangadwaladr, yng ngogledd Cymru. Mae'n cymryd ei enw o Afon Ffraw. Yn Oes y Tywysogion Aberffraw oedd maenor cwmwd Malltraeth, yng nghantref Aberffraw. Ers cyfnod cynnar iawn roedd yn gartref i brif lys teyrnas Gwynedd, cartref traddodiadol brenhinoedd a thywysogion Gwynedd. Ond adeg yr Oesoedd Canol Gwleidyddiaeth roedd yn brif lys i reolwyr teyrnas Gwynedd rhwng c.860 AC/au Rhun ap Iorwerth (Plaid OC hyd c.1170. Hwn oedd canolbwynt eu pŵer. Cymru) Mae archaeoleg yn dangos bod Aberffraw wedi bod yn AS/au Virginia Crosbie lleoliad pwysig hefyd mewn cyfnod cyn-hanesyddol. (Ceidwadwyr) Canfuwyd fflintiau Mesolithig, Tomen Gladdu o’r Oes Efydd a chaer Rufeinig yma. Mae hefyd yn cael ei enwi yn Y Mabinogion fel y man lle priodwyd Branwen ferch Llŷr a Matholwch, Brenin Iwerddon.[1][2] Mae tystiolaeth yn dangos ei bod hi’n ddigon posib bod maerdref (lle byddai’r taeogion yn byw), eglwys, llys a chaer wedi bod yn Aberffraw ers cyfnod Maelgwn Gwynedd, a oedd yn teyrnasu dros Wynedd yn y 6ed ganrif OC.[3] O tua 860OC ymlaen datblygodd Aberffraw i fod yn lleoliad llys Brenhinoedd Gwynedd. Roedd hwn yn Ffeiliau perthnasol ar Comin dynodi dechrau llinach frenhinol a ddaeth i gael ei hadnabod fel Aberffraw, a barhaodd hyd Concwest [golygwch ar Wicidata] Edward I o Gymru yn 1282/3. Roedd Aberffraw yn borthladd pwysig ar gyfer masnachu a physgota, ac amddiffynwyd ef gan Rhodri Mawr a Brenhinoedd Gwynedd rhag ymosodiadau oddi wrth y Llychlynwyr, y Gwyddelod a’r Normaniaid.[4] Y llys yn Aberffraw oedd canolbwynt pŵer Teyrnas Gwynedd. Oddi yma roedd swyddogion yn casglu trethi ac yn gweinyddu’r gyfraith. Oherwydd ei statws fel llys brenhinol byddai hefyd wedi diddanu'r Brenin, ei deulu a’i wahoddedigion. Wedi ymosodiadau'r Normaniaid yng ngogledd Cymru yn 1086 dechreuodd cyflwr y llys ddirywio, ond cafodd ei atgyweirio a’i adnewyddu fel canolfan pŵer Owain Gwynedd wedi iddo ymsefydlu fel Brenin Gwynedd yn 1137.[5] Yn dilyn marwolaeth Llywelyn ap Gruffydd yng Nghilmeri yn 1282, dinistriwyd llawer o’r llys canoloesol yn Aberffraw gan y Saeson, a chymerwyd cerrig oddi ar y safle er mwyn adeiladu cestyll Edward yng Nghaernarfon a Biwmares.[6] Mae cloddiadau yn yr ardal wedi dangos olion caer ganoloesol sy’n dangos nodweddion Rhufeinig neu ôl-Rufeinig, a allai fod yn safle posibl i’r llys.[7] Tybir mai lleoliad Eglwys Sant Beuno heddiw oedd safle’r llys brenhinol.[8] Eglwys Beuno Mae tŵr yr eglwys hynafol hon yn nodwedd amlwg yn y pentref. Cysegrwyd yr eglwys i Beuno Sant. Mae ei chynllun corff dwbl yn fwy cyffredin yn Nyffryn Clwyd nag ar yr ynys. Mae'r rhan ddeheuol yn Normanaidd ei phensaernïaeth ac yn dyddio o'r 12g. • Anglesey & Gwynedd Joint Local Joint Development Plan 2016-2026 Item
Anglesey & Gwynedd Joint Local Joint Development Plan 2016-2026 Item:- Deposit Plan Part 2 - Maps Ref ID 1824 - Page 111 - Map 118 - Bryn Du Re - Planning Approval for 12 Affordable Houses granted 2014 although part of the JLDP 2016-2026. ==================================================================== My previous statements on this item remains true and accurate. This comment indicates the degree of serious unsoundness that exists in the existing presented JLDP and the inadequate considerations given to the provision and location of Affordable Housing in Anglesey, and the serious consequences of locating Affordable Housing which do not have the benefit of adequate services and facilities. I stated in my earlier submission that the Anglesey County Council, (ACC), and the JLDP provide guidance on the location of Affordable Housing and state that they should be located in settlements where there are public facilities to support them. Grossly contrary to this guidance Bryn Du is a substantial linear village about 1 km long, and estimated to be of over 100 dwellings, between Llanfaelog Church and Ty Croes Train Station -(which provides a limited, almost virtual service which renders it unfit for purpose). The press statement issued by the Group Cynefin Housing Association and Anglesey County Council Housing Department on 26 May 2015 at the start of construction of the 12 Affordable Houses allocated to Bryn Du indicates how remote these organisations are from their own Council Guidance and the realms of reality:- “Grŵp Cynefin are working in partnership with Anglesey Council’s housing services to develop four small-scale sites in Bryngwran, Bodedern, Holyhead and Llanfaelog. The four developments were announced during a visit to one of the sites, the Bryn Du development in Llanfaelog, which consists of six homes (3 bedroom) and six smaller homes (2 bedroom).

  • Advisory Visit Bodorgan Estate, Anglesey April 2012
Advisory Visit Bodorgan Estate, Anglesey April 2012 1.0 Introduction This report is the output of a site visit undertaken by Tim Jacklin of the Wild Trout Trust to the Bodorgan Estate, Anglesey on, 12th April, 2012. Comments in this report are based on observations on the day of the site visit and discussions with Tim Bowie (General Manager of the Estate), Holly Parry (local graduate of Bangor University), Billy Tweddle (Gamekeeper) and Ian Ferrier (experienced local angler). Normal convention is applied throughout the report with respect to bank identification, i.e. the banks are designated left hand bank (LHB) or right hand bank (RHB) whilst looking downstream. 2.0 Catchment and Fishery Overview Bodorgan Estate is on the south-west of the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales, and covers an area of approximately 15,000 acres. Within the Estate is Llyn Coron, a lake of approximately 90 acres (cover picture), which is within the catchment of the Afon Ffraw. The lake contains wild brown trout and sea trout which run the Ffraw. The lake is fished by a small syndicate (and day ticket anglers) and is occasionally stocked with farmed brown trout. The main focus of this advisory visit was the Afon Fraw, Llyn Coron and their tributaries. Also on the Estate is the Afon Caradog, a tributary of the Afon Crigyll which joins the sea at Rhosneigr. Sections of the Caradog were also inspected during this visit at Y Werthyr (SH373783) and Bryn Glas (SH372781).
