CITYNEWS REPORTER FRANCIS D’SOUZA TAKES HOME THE GEMINI FOR BREAKING NEWS, G20 SUMMIT
- OMNI wins two Geminis for Best Documentary and Best Original Music Score for a Documentary Program or Series -
(TORONTO – August 30, 2011) CityNews reporter Francis D'Souza, along with cameraman Alfredo Colangelo, have been awarded a Gemini for Best Breaking Reportage, Local, CityNews - G20 Summit. The award was handed out earlier this evening at the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television’s 26th annual Gemini Awards. This is D’Souza’s first Gemini Award nomination and first win.
D’Souza was recently announced as Anchor for the new weekday news program, CityNews at Five, premiering Monday, Sept. 5 on Citytv.
