Blackberry Smoke Ride for CURE Hosted by Tom Glavine

Take a dose of Southern rock, add some gleaming chrome and leather, then throw in a worthy children’s cause on a summer day and what do you get? The Blackberry Smoke Ride for CURE, Hosted by Tom Glavine scheduled Sunday, August 11, 2019.

Blackberry Smoke members, including brothers Brit and Richard Turner, were personally impacted by childhood cancer when Brit’s daughter Lana was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma at age 3. After being told that there was little chance of survival, Lana fought and defeated the cancer and is now a thriving and happy 12-year-old. When Lana survived cancer, Brit made a vow to help make a di erence in the ght against pediatric cancer.

The Blackberry Smoke Ride for CURE, Hosted by Tom Glavine is one way that Brit and his bandmates are helping. Falcons Fury Harley Davidson dealership in Conyers, Ga. is sponsoring the two-day event on the weekend of August 10 and 11, 2019, and organizers expect more than 1,000 riders to participate. Registration is $20 at www.rideforcure.org. Rae tickets for one-of-a-kind items are also available for $25 each at www.rideforcure.org.

On August 10, riders and bike enthusiasts can enjoy a family picnic and bike show at Falcons Fury from noon to 4 pm. The day will include live music, meet and greet with former and National Hall of Fame legend Tom Glavine and his wife Chris, children’s activities and complimentary food and beverages. The Glavines are long-time supporters and volunteers for CURE.

On August 11, riders will meet at Falcons Fury Harley Davidson starting at 11 and the ride ocially begins at 12 noon. The 38-mile route runs between Falcons Fury in Conyers and concludes at The at SunTrust Park at PBR Atlanta in Cobb County. Brit and Richard Turner and Tom and Chris Glavine will participate in the ride. Once at The Battery Atlanta, riders will enjoy a post-ride event with live music, and Brit Turner and Tom Glavine will draw and announce rae item winners.
