Dignitaries were on hand to pitch in, including the new Bronx Borough President, Adolfo Carrion, who threw out the first pitch, and New York State Assemblyman Stephen B. Kaufman. This year's opening day festivities were dedicated to the past presidents of City Island Little League, especially Mr. Davis, who dreamed of a club house and a batting cage when he was president from 1979 to 1986.
