Donnycarney and Killester are served by excellent schools with dedicated staff. For the past two years we have worked with local schools to protect essential staffing levels, SNAs, special educational supports and also to deliver much needed repair works. We are now delighted to be working with the educational support service agency SUAS and Scoil Chiaráin CBS to deliver literacy supports in the school. Last month Aodhán also launched a 'Back to School Costs' public consultation for his Oireachtas Committee Report. We want parents to tell us what is working well - and what should work better - to bring down the cost of sending children to school. We need to discuss this NOW so that changes can be made for next September. Submissions should be sent to [email protected] with the words 'Back to School Costs' in the subject line.
DELIVERING FLOODING RELIEF FOR CLANMOYLE SENIOR CITIZENS FORUMS FOR RD AND SURROUNDING AREA KILLESTER AND DONNYCARNEY Jane and Aodhán have consistently been working on the issue of delivering flood relief for Clanmoyle Road and the surrounding area and we have made great progress in this regard. Dublin CIty Council and Clontarf Golf Club are hoping to shortly enter into detailed negotiations on the legal, construction and financial aspects of the council's flood alleviation scheme. When these negotiations are completed and agreed with the Golf Club, Irish Rail and most importantly the residents, the City Council can then programme construction works. We don't just show up at meetings when the area has been flooded - we work all year round for permanent solutions for the local community.
