Vol. 2. March, 2007 B R THE TROUT REVIEW O Welcome back for another edition of the coral trout! T Before we reminisce on the recent weeks of blood bath, let’s start with who I believe H are the team to watch as 2007 premiership double favourites. If the under 19 boys can continue their fighting performances which were witnessed against Yeppoon and E Norths, and achieve regular full appearances at training, I think under the guidance of R Mick (aka “HURRY UP #@!$”) as coach they can go all the way for the double. The younger players really are the future of this club and it looks a very promising road S ahead. Reserve grade, as always, performed well with consistent efforts and will once again be one of the top performers of the competition. Scott Bodley, despite his R choice of NRL favouritism, has a good mind set and attitude in the Reggies Ranks. www.rockybrothers.leaguenet.com.au In saying that let me reflect on an article I observed in the local Handy Trader: L WANTED Players Required for A Grade Brothers . Selection due to players being soft and injured! F C Despite the amount of ‘cat gut’ required to stitch Baguely, Troy Careless and Lill back together again, the injury the Brothers Brave Heart story climaxed with Bunt, Brandon, Simpson, Powell and Dunn all added to the injured list, sending local nurses Rockhampton Brothers and practitioners in a spin. In what looks to be a test of character to the injury riddled A-grade side, I imagine upcoming performances will be closely watched of Reserve Senior RLFC 2007 grade players to make the transition! Watch this space, as the next edition will include some of my poetic brilliance….. Sponsors Over and Out. The Trout

Who Is The Trout?

The Trout is a man of mystery & has requested to remain anonymous, but to give you an insight into The Trout, here are a few phrases to describe the character we have come to know only as The Trout:

The Trout once visited the Virgin Islands...They are now called The Islands. The Trout gave Mona Lisa that smile! The Trout’s calendar goes straight from march 31st to April 2nd; no one can fool The Trout! The Trout once ate a wheel barrow of clay to prove to a mate that the expression “$4!tting Bricks” wasn’t just a figure of speech…...

R www.rockybrothers.leaguenet.com.au www.rockybrothers.leaguenet.com.au HELP WANTED L Players are required to help organize the 90th anniversary celebration of our club to be held on F June 2, 2007. Ideas for the night and help at the event will ensure a great evening. If you know the location of any past players, coaches, managers, volunteers or supporters, please pass this C information onto Jack or Pat. If you can help please contact Jack on 0419675180 or see him at training. VICTORIA PARK DEVELOPMENT UPDATE The club will be submitting an application to Sport & Rec Qld next Thursday for a grant to light field 2 (the top field) and to install irrigation on field 1 (main field). This will take place during the off season and be completed by the commencement of the 2008 season. Our portion of the cost will equate to approx $66,000. This project is going to be extremely beneficial not only to our club, but all involved in junior and schoolboy rugby league in Rockhampton. It will also see the return of our Rugby Union cousins to Victoria Park as there will be enough room to accommodate them. The financial contribution from Brothers Rugby Union is appreciated and we welcome and await their return to Victoria Park. It is essential that all registration fees are paid ASAP to ensure a healthy bank account for when the development starts. PRESIDENTS PICK The Presidents Pick for the past two rounds has been difficult granted the number of outright gutsy performances we have seen over the past couple of weeks. In Round 2 against the Seagulls, Reserve Grade Fullback “Dingo” was the standout with a solid all round performance. In blistering conditions last Sunday, the pick of round 3 was Reece ‘Dozer’ Chapman. Reece ran riot on Sunday as he stepped up from the U 17’s to help guide the 19’s to victory. Congrats lads, see Jack at training to collect your prize!

THE HATCH & MATCH DISCLAIMER Congratulations are in order for Sam and Vicki McInnerney with the arrival of baby Cooper McInnerney.

Congratulations also to Shane and Majella (Draper) Stanfield who tied the knot in February 2007.
