2010 Annual Report AU Mission Americans United for Separation of Church and State is a nonpartisan educational organization dedicated to preserving the constitutional principle of church-state separation as the only way to ensure religious freedom for all Americans. James Madison (1751-1836) is popularly known as the “Father of the Constitution.” He was one of the strongest advocates of church-state separation, and Americans United strives to honor Madison’s legacy every day. Because of his vision — and that of other Framers — Americans have more religious freedom than any people in world history. Our nation includes adherents of every faith tradition, as well as those who choose to follow no spiritual path at all. We must and will remain vigilant about the inappropriate efforts by some religious leaders to receive government funding for what should be their privately funded missions and by some tax-exempt religious bodies seeking to illegally intervene in partisan political campaigns. We will stand up for the principles advanced by so many of the Framers who knew that the decision to create a new government, neutral on matters of faith, might turn out to be the greatest contribution to world thinking they would create.     Cathedral Building in America: A Missionary Cathedral in Utah By the Very Reverend Gary Kriss, D.D. I “THERE IS NO fixed type yet of the American cathedral.”1 Bishop Daniel S. Tuttle’s comment in 1906 remains true today as an assessment of the progress of the cathedral movement in the Episcopal Church. In organization, mission, and architecture, American cathedrals represent a kaleidoscope of styles quite unlike the settled cathedral system which is found in England. It may fairly be said that, in the development of the Episcopal Church, cathedrals were an afterthought. The first cathedrals appear on the scene in the early 1860s, more than two hundred fifty years after Anglicans established their first parish on American soil. So far removed from the experience of English cathedral life, it is remarkable that cathedrals emerged at all—unless it might be suggested that by the very nature of episcopacy, cathedrals are integral to it. “I think no Episcopate complete that has not a center, the cathedral, as well as a circumference, the Diocese.”2 The year was 1869. William Croswell Doane, first Bishop of Albany, New York, was setting forth his vision for his Diocese. Just two years earlier, Bishop Tuttle had set out from his parish in Morris, New York, (which, coincidentally, was in that section of New York State which became part of the new Diocese of Albany in 1868) to begin his work as Missionary Bishop of Montana with Idaho and Utah. In 1869, Bishop Tuttle established his permanent home in Salt Lake City, and within two years, quite without any conscious purpose or design on his part, he had a cathedral.

Kimball Professor Department of Political Science University of Missouri – St. Louis [email protected] July 2017 Forthcoming, American Politics Research Abstract Public beliefs about the frequency of voter fraud are frequently cited to support restrictive voting laws in the United States. However, some sources of public beliefs about voter fraud have received little attention. We identify two conditions that combine to make anti-immigrant attitudes a strong predictor of voter fraud beliefs. First, the recent growth and dispersion of the immigrant population makes immigration a salient consideration for many Americans. Second, an immigrant threat narrative in political discourse linking immigration to crime and political dysfunction has been extended to the voting domain. Using new data from a survey module in the 2014 Cooperative Congressional Election Study and the 2012 American National Election Study, we show that immigrant resentment is strongly associated with voter fraud beliefs. Widespread hostility toward immigrants helps nourish public beliefs about voter fraud and support for voting restrictions in the United States. The conditions generating this relationship in public opinion likely exist in other nations roiled by immigration politics. I also serve as a voice for my community, its students and parents in being a beacon in providing an enriching educational opportunity within our schools. I want to provide an educational environment expanding on the commitment to parents by the State of Connecticut to close the achievement gap and raise the level of academic excellence. We want to utilize the support systems that the state possesses. In the Greater Hartford area, we have seen families and children suffer from poverty, oppression and a lackluster educational system that is afforded to the lower socioeconomic groups of its citizens. The racial isolation and disparity has contributed to the negative impact of inequality in education in this region. Bloomfield is the home base off my congregation and most of the youth reside in Bloomfield and the metropolitan area. Currently the district is made up of public, CREC magnet and private and religious based schools. The students at the private and religious based schools are out performing the students in the magnet and public schools on the state’s mandated assessments.

The likes of Laura Ingraham. a bigot and Michael Savage, an avowed racist and hate monger, do not represent the feelings or the political leanings of central Ohio. I and many of my co-workers listen to this station daily. We all love AI Frankin, Randi Rhodes, Stephanie Miller and Ed Schulh.lf this change in r programing goes forward we will no longer listen to the racist hate messages of these people.The airwaves are public domain,you do not own them. You pay a fee to use them for the benefit and entertainment of the population which they serve. In turn you make money with advertising. You will not make money on this venture. The people of central Ohio want to hear voices that reflect their views and these zealots on your announced line-up do not represent us. Ohio voted overwhelmingly Democrat and it is unconscionable of you to switch this station to such a out of the majority format as this. I and everybody I know listen to WTPG.
