The Order of Nine Angles and National Socialism The Order of Nine Angles And National Socialism Introduction Over the past four decades there has been much speculation regarding whether or not the the occult group the Order of Nine Angles (O9A/ONA) is a neo-nazi/fascist organization. Many academics who have written about the O9A - from Kaplan to Goodrick-Clark to Senholt {1} - assert it is, as do the majority of journalists who - from whatever political/financial motive or from that desire to sensationalize or trivialize which so dominates most modern Media - have had occasion to mention or write about the O9A and/or the person most associated with it in the public mind: to wit, David Myatt. The O9A attitude toward the question is, as one might expect, ambivalent. Sometimes they deny the association, claiming that for them National Socialism is simply 'a causal form' - part of a sinister dialectic, of their strategy of disruption - and/or can be a personal 'insight role' for initiates. and/or (and again for individuals) can be a cathartic modern 'heresy'. At other times, they let it be known that - through their Vindex mythos, their praise of Hitler, their denunciation of 'the Magian', and their denial of the 1939-1945 Jewish holocaust - they are if not actively promoting National Socialism then they are propagating and presencing its ethos, and thus 'keeping alive' its pagan essence. {2} For example, the following quotes are from a thread on a 'White Nationalist' forum {3} and express a view that apparently is common among O9A insiders in regard to National Socialism and O9A 'sinister strategy'. "It seems that the 'satanic' overtones of the ONA serve several subversive purposes. First, to propagate the heresy - contrary to the magian (Jewish) 'satanism' of Levey and others - that, as I mentioned in a previous reply, "as originally used and meant, the term satan refers to some human being or beings who 'diabolically' plot or who scheme against or who are 'diabolically' opposed to those who consider themselves as 'chosen' by their monotheistic God." Those who consider themselves so 'chosen' are the Jews. Second, to attract a certain type of rebellious young person who is prepared to do stuff - as an 'insight role' or otherwise - that NS and racial nationalist political groups can't do. Third, to propagate a certain mystique, an occult aura, of dangerousness, difficulty, perplexity, and to confuse outsiders." "If the ONA can, via [the Vindex] mythos and others ways, secretly inspire dozens of people in various Western lands to 'keep the faith' and revere the memory of Adolf Hitler and propagate holocaust revisionism, then isn't that worthwhile, despite what the ZOG media says about the ONA? The reality is that small clandestine ONA groups - in lands such as Russia, Italy, Spain, South America, Germany, and Bosnia - are 'keeping the faith'. Just as the Thule society, and kindred esoteric groups, helped prepare the way for the emergence and the success of Adolf Hitler." In order to enable readers to judge the matter for themselves I present here a selection of articles and quotes, many of a recent nature, and most of which are written or are by O9A insiders or taken from published O9A texts. My own view is that when considered together the evidence - that presented here and that available in other O9A texts {4} - is reasonably conclusive. Furthermore, what is - for me - of especial interest is the fact, uncommented upon by others outside of the O9A, that as DL9 mentions in his posting on that forum "the ONA state in their text The Geryne of Satan that 'as originally used and meant, the term satan refers to some human being or beings who 'diabolically' plot or who scheme against or who are 'diabolically' opposed to those who consider themselves as 'chosen' by their monotheistic God.' Those who consider themselves as 'chosen' by their monotheistic God are, of course, the Jews." Which historical understanding of satan - and thence of the term satanism - certainly makes the O9A, with their holocaust denial, with their adversity to the Magian ethos and with their championing of National Socialism, a satanist group. The O9A, Hitler, Vindex, And National-Socialism For decades the Order of Nine Angles (ONA, O9A) has been described by many outsiders as a 'neo-nazi satanic' group and as an exponent of 'nazi satanism' {1}. Such a description, at least exoterically, seems apposite, especially given (i) the O9A's Mass of Heresy with its evokation and praise of Adolf Hitler, and (ii) the emphasis on 'holocaust revisionism' {2}, and (iii) the ONA mythos of Vindex and of a Dark Imperium, and (iv) the involvement of Anton Long (aka David Myatt) in neo-nazism for some thirty years, and (v) O9A opposition to everything Magian, including Magian occultism {3}, with one of the 'five core principles' of the ONA being The Way of Defiance of and Practical Opposition to Magian Abstractions. However, given that satanism for the O9A is basically an initiate pathei-mathos {4} and given that the O9A is, esoterically understood, a Western pagan ('sinisterly-numinous') tradition {5}, and given that the O9A Code of Honour makes no mention of ethnicity, then such a description seems – at least to sagacious outsiders – to misdescribe the ethos of the O9A. Yet, unsurprisingly – given the O9A's Labyrinthos Mythologicus, part of which is the 'sinister game' it has played with outsiders and prospective initiates – the actual truth has been obscured for decades. Which truth was recently succinctly described by an 'insider' – an O9A initiate – of a Balkan O9A nexion: [The] ONA/o9a is the evolution of the essence behind National Socialism, the evolution of this pagan spirit and lifestyle of our ancestors, that was and is incomparably far from anything that now passes as occult. This is the 'heretical' truth of National Socialism itself, and especially of Myatt's evolution of National- Socialism as manifest via his Reichsfolk group: of a natural desire for a paganus way of living based on virtues such as arête and a being-with, among, one's own folk and which folk communities are a natural expression of the diversity and evolution of Nature. This is the heretical truth – beyond the artificial division between exoteric and exoteric – of 'clan and tribe': that is, of a love of, and pride in, and respect for one's motherland, and thus being bound by and honouring one's ancestral traditions. This is the truth of personal honour as opposed to impersonal civic law. The truth of a personal and ancestral connexion to Nature. The truth of Myatt's, and the O9A's, Vindex mythos. The truth of what lies beyond – and yet is the essence of – 'the occult': that empathy with Life, with Nature, with the Cosmos, that all abstractions and impersonal cities distance us from and which empathy is, as Anton Long once wrote in a 1970s MS {6}, the only aim of the O9A Rite of Internal Adept and indeed of occult initiation itself. Which is why Anton Long wrote that: "By virtue of being a nexion, an individual is connected to the causal presencing that is Nature, and to those living-beings which are manifest in Nature. One such living-being is the folkish-culture, the folkish-psyche, to which they belong – from which they have come-into-being, as an individual. Basically, this is just a precise way of understanding that all non-Adepts are, or can be or will be, influenced by various unconscious archetypal forces deriving from their ancestors, and their ancestral culture (or way of life) and that, whether they know or not (and they mostly do not know) they are connected to such living-beings. Generally, such a connexion (both unknown and made-conscious) is positive: that is, it tends towards an affirmation of life, and provides the individual with access to certain energies which are beneficial to them." {7} And why the O9A has always praised the warrior ethos, Hitler, and the Waffen-SS {8}, and propagated the Vindex mythos, and emphasised the idea of a Galactic Imperium; and why the O9A values, and emphasises, both 'the clan' and 'the tribe' and such pagan ancestral European traditions as the Rounwytha. The archetypal CoS member was a black-robed figure who played a 'role', and who placed ego-fulfilment and pleasure before everything. LaVey was accepted as a 'Master' and an authority to be revered - and a personality cult developed. The archetypal ToS member is someone who has read a lot of Occult literature, who engages in discussions with others about their beliefs and practices, and who likes the charisma and appeal of being a 'Satanist'. Often they dress for the part - and need a group identity, a sense of 'belonging'. They also accept Temple authority and are content to let an organization confer advancement upon them (in the form of titles and positions). The archetypal ONA member is the lone sorcerer/sorceress struggling - via practical (and sometimes dark) experiences toward self-attainment, guided by the teachings of the Order, and by occasional meeting with someone who has gone that way before. Given that such goals are socially unacceptable, and often illegal, extremist speech communities need to camouflage their politics by either shifting the context in which they take place (e.g. private meetings, encrypted communications) or by coding and cloaking their terminology and symbols. Codes, euphemisms and veiled signs are therefore a defining feature of online extremist discourse.1 2 The use of such codes serves a range of interpersonal, rhetorical and political functions. First, codes help to ensure that communication remains within accepted (typically legal) boundaries. These codes shift over time, partly because what is socially and/or legally proscribed changes. Second, since codes essentially offer a new way to convey political extremism, they signal the continued advocacy of a political ideology for those able to interpret the code. Just as a party logo might change but will continue to represent the party in question, so too a new word, image or meme can communicate an established ideological commitment.

Last week, federal prosecutors in the United States described the ONA as “an occult-based neo-Nazi and racially motivated violent extremist group”. Private Ethan Melzer, 22, from Louisville, Kentucky, has been charged with conspiring and attempting to murder US nationals; conspiring and attempting to murder military service members; providing and attempting to provide material support to terrorists; and conspiring to murder and maim in a foreign country. Audrey Strauss, the acting US attorney in Manhattan, said Melzer had tried “to orchestrate a murderous ambush on his own unit by unlawfully revealing its location, strength and armaments to a neo-Nazi, anarchist, white supremacist group”. Melzer was described as “the enemy within”. BACKGROUND • The Order of Nine Angles (ONA or O9A) is a secret religious movement that originated in Britain in the 1970s. • It combines elements of occultism, satanism and mysticism in its beliefs and practices. • In the late 1990s, it became associated with neo-Nazi violence and then, after the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001, with militant Islamism. • The ONA’s unusual blend of satanism, mysticism and purported neo-Nazi sympathies has attracted growing academic and political interest, including the anti-racist and anti-fascist campaigning group HOPE not hate’s campaign in early 2020 for the UK government to proscribe it.

    Operating with Impunity Hateful extremism: The need for a legal framework February 2021 Commission for Countering Extremism Foreword Since the London bombings in 2005, successive governments have sought to address the extremist threat. Yet, as this report shows, the problem of hateful extremism has got worse. The ecosystem of hateful extremism has evolved at a rapid pace and has changed substantially over the last decade. Technological advancements, the lack of regulation of online platforms, and the use of sophisticated tactics by extremists are just some of the reasons why we have seen a significant growth in hateful extremism. As Lead Commissioner, I have seen first-hand the harm hateful extremism is having on our citizens and our communities, on our freedoms and rights, and our democracy. As Government struggle to contain this growing threat, their efforts have been hampered by an ambiguous and incoherent counter extremism policy and approach. This was also why a proposed Extremism Bill in 2015 failed to materialise. This report highlights two stark realities. Firstly, due to a lack of laws designed to capture the activity of hateful extremism, extremists have been able to exploit gaps in existing legislation. As a result, this is permitting some of the most shocking and dangerous extremist activity and material in Britain. The real-life examples we provide demonstrate that hateful extremists intend to create a climate conducive to terrorism, hate crime and violence; or seek to erode and destroy our democratic freedoms and rights. They are able to do so lawfully, freely and with impunity. Secondly, the failure of our laws to keep pace with the evolving and modern-day hateful extremist threat.

In contrast to the propaganda of the anti-fascists these responses by O9A folk are measured, reasoned, and provide copious reference to the O9A corpus and to primary O9A texts. The current focus of the anti-fascist campaign is the allegation that the O9A - according to Labour Member of Parliament Stephanie Peacock - "promotes some of the world's most hateful, misogynistic beliefs out there, targeting women with the worst forms of cruelty and violence." However, a study of primary O9A texts - such as The Deofel Quartet, the pro-Lesbian novel Breaking The Silence Down {1} and items such as the 2017 On The Anti-Patriarchal O9A Ethos {2} - reveals the exact opposite, as does the O9A praxis named The Rounwytha, which option is explained in the text The Seven Fold Way Of The Order Of Nine Angles: A Modern Practical Guide {3} where men are the exception, women the rule. In addition, the O9A has always had Sapphic nexions {4}. See also the 2013 article The Rounwytha Way which is included here as an appendix. The anti-fascist campaign also promotes the common misunderstanding that the O9A has "members" whereas being an esoteric anarchistic-nihilistic movement, or philosophy, {5} it cannot have members only those inspired by that philosophy or those who associate themselves with it.
