Tottie Goldsmith TOTTIE GOLDSMITH Since the age of nineteen, the multi-talented Tottie Goldsmith has graced television screens, stages and airwaves across Australia as a much-loved performing artist and media personality. Tottie began her career as an actress in the early 1980s on numerous Australian soap operas including The Young Doctors, Starting Out and Prisoner. It was at her 25th birthday party in 1986 that Tottie and three girlfriends debuted their pop group Chantoozies before releasing their first single Witch Queen on Mushroom Records in January the following year. The song peaked at number 4 on the Australian singles chart achieving Gold and Platinum status in Australia. The 90’s proved to be just as stellar for Tottie’s career with television and radio scrambling to secure the artist in numerous hosting roles. Credits include host of Network Ten’s controversial and groundbreaking Sex/Life series, host of the first-ever televised coverage of the Australian Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and host of Melbourne’s top- rating breakfast radio program on TTFM in 1997. Tottie also starred as the female lead Tex Perez in Network Seven’s Fire (1995) followed by a guest appearance in Bryan Brown’s Twisted Tales (1996) playing opposite Academy Award-winner Geoffrey Rush. Other guest role credits include the scripted productions Blue Heelers, The Secret Life of Us, Neighbours,(playing Margot Robbie’s mum Cassandra Freedman) Underbelly’s Infiltration, Stingers and Swift and Shift Couriers as well as unscripted television shows Bert’s Family Feud, Big Questions, ABBAmania, Surprise Surprise Gotcha and Celebrity Singing Bee. TOTTIE GOLDSMITH In 1998, Tottie embarked on a two-year stint in the theatre playing the roles of ‘Miss Lynch’ in Grease The Arena Spectacular, ‘Janet’ in The New Rocky Horror Show at Sydney’s Star City – her first role in musical theatre – and ‘Susanne’ for a national tour of Don’t Dress for Dinner with Dennis Waterman and Jon English. Was invited to perform Vagina Monalogues with various celebrities in the Melbourne run. She has since starred opposite Samuel Johnson in the national tour of Sex With Strangers, then co-starred as ‘Celia’ in the Melbourne run of Calendar Girls. Tottie’s feature film credits include Visitors opposite Radha Mitchel and Dominique Purcell in 2003, Ricky! The Movie in 2010 and a number of productions to be released later in 2019. Tottie won best supporting actress in Start Options Exit at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival in 2014. She has studied acting with the prestigious Beverly Hills Playhouse and Janet Alhanti’s workshops in Los Angeles. In Australia Tottie participated in 3 Larry Moss and 2 Ivanna Chubback’s Masterclass at the 16th Street Actor’s Studio including 8 week scene study with Noni Hazlehurst. In 2018 Tottie participated in Kim Farrant’s Raw Truth Masterclass. In addition to being one of Australia’s most dynamic and versatile performers, Tottie is also the Goodwill Ambassador for her Aunt Olivia Newton-John’s Cancer Centre in Melbourne and still tours with the Chantoozies. There was cheese, courtesy of the irrepressible Brian Mannix of the Unfunny X-Men, and there was deja-vu with Cheetah, the sister act that came on looking quite fabulous.
