STUDIOCANAL, ZEEL, DISNEY AND COMAREX EXECS TO RECEIVE

MIPTV 2016 MÉDAILLES D’HONNEUR

Paris, 7 March 2016 – MIPTV, the world’s leading international TV industry event, today announces that its 2016 Médailles d’Honneur will be awarded to Rola Bauer, Partner, , and STUDIOCANAL Executive; Punit Goenka, Managing Director & CEO, and his brother, Amit Goenka, CEO, International Broadcast Business, ZEEL (Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited), India; Ben Pyne, President Global Distribution, Disney Media Networks, USA; and Marcel Vinay, President, Comarex, Mexico.

The five will be awarded the MIPTV Médailles d’Honneur in a ceremony taking place in Cannes, France on Wednesday 6 April 2016. The prestigious MIPTV Médailles d’Honneur are awarded to senior executives who have, through their talent, leadership and passion, made a significant contribution to the world of television and the development of the international TV community.

A Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated producer, Rola Bauer leads TV production and co- production initiatives in the US market for STUDIOCANAL, a division of the French media giant . This includes working with STUDIOCANAL’s production and partnership companies on scripted formats and co-productions, as well as exploring synergies with Vivendi’s . The STUDIOCANAL umbrella includes German-based TANDEM Productions (headed by Bauer), the UK's and Guilty Party, and the Scandinavian SAM Productions (Denmark). Bauer is also responsible for strategic alliances with writing/show-running talent in the U.S. for the studio’s television division. Rola Bauer’s recent executive producer credits include the drama “Spotless,” a CANAL+ Création Originale, “Crossing Lines,” currently rolling out its third season worldwide, and “The Pillars of the Earth,” starring Eddie Redmayne, Ian McShane and Donald Sutherland. Bauer was named Outstanding Producer of the Year by the prestigious Bavarian Television Awards for her work on the 8-hour follow-up event series “World Without End,” starring Cynthia Nixon and Miranda Richardson. As the driving force behind India’s most valuable listed entertainment entity, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL), Punit Goenka, Managing Director & CEO, and his brother, Amit Goenka, CEO, International Broadcast Business, become the first Indian TV executives to receive Médailles d’Honneur. Punit Goenka took charge as MD & CEO in 2008 and since then, he has been extremely successful in enhancing ZEEL’s performance and keeping the company at the forefront of the TV business in India. He is listed among the top 100 CEOs in India and has won many business leadership awards. Punit’s younger brother Amit took over as the group’s CEO, International Broadcast Business late last year, and is responsible for spearheading ZEE’s foreign expansion. Today, ZEE is available in 169 countries and reaches over 959 million viewers worldwide.

Ben Pyne has been with The Walt Disney Company for some 24 years, and has been President, Global Distribution, Disney Media Networks since 2007. He has responsibility for the global distribution and sales of the far-reaching portfolio of entertainment and news content produced by the company. This includes all feature films, television series, kids’ programming, made-for-TV movies, miniseries, news documentaries, TV animation and direct-to-video content, and involves their distribution across all platforms including VOD and broadband platforms such as Netflix, Hulu and iTunes. He also oversees domestic distribution of the company’s television content, international content, and channel distribution through Disney Media Distribution. Over the past five years, Pyne has been instrumental in closing renewal agreements with every major US television distributor, including a groundbreaking deal with Comcast Corporation that launched the first-ever Disney-branded live, authenticated networks – WATCH Disney Channel, WATCH Disney XD and WATCH Disney Junior – available online and via a suite of apps for iOS devices.

With a career spanning 50 years, Marcel Vinay Sr. has held a number of leading roles with companies such as TV Azteca, Telecadena and Televisa, overseeing sales, telenovela production, pay-TV channels, acquisitions, and international distribution across Latin America. Considered a pioneer in Latam content distribution to the world, Vinay launched a TV network in Mexico City in 1971, and in the following year merged with competitor Telesistema Mexicano, which later became Televisa, Mexico’s largest television network. He then entered into the international distribution arena as President of Protele, a Televisa subsidiary, where he was in charge of selling and distributing the first telenovelas worldwide. In 1994, he moved to TV Azteca, where he was VP of International Sales and was also involved in content acquisitions, telenovela and series production, channel programming, pay-TV channel development, and music production. Vinay then joined international distributor Comarex as President in January 2016, where he oversees all global sales activities.
