June is a busy month of important events and initiatives. In advance of the G7 & NATO Summits, amid unprecedented escalation of Russian aggression, UWC and our member organizations continue to be the powerful global voice in support of .

June 13 – Liberation of Mariupol Day. In 2014, the Ukrainian army liberated the city of Mariupol from pro-Russian militants.

June 22 - Day of Mourning and Commemoration of the victims of war in Ukraine. It is celebrated annually on the day the German-Soviet War began, which took the life of one in five Ukrainians.

The European Congress of Ukrainians initiated a series of meetings with the leaders of Ukrainian communities in Europe. The Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Society "Dnipro" - Rijeka, for the 30th anniversary of the restoration of Independence of Ukraine, will hold the Fifth International Competition "Ukrainian Solos in Rijeka" (June 19, 2021) in the framework of the Sixth Ukrainian Festival of Song, Music, Dance and Art (June 20, 2021).

In Memory of Mr. Bohdan Fedorak

The UWC expresses its deep sorrow and sympathy for the passing of Mr. Bohdan Fedorak, a well-known Ukrainian public figure from the , and expresses his deepest condolences to his family, friends, and community.

For 10 years, from 1998 to 2008, Bohdan Fedorak served as the UWC's Financial Officer. For a long time, he headed the UWC's constituent organization, the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, was the Honorary Consul of Ukraine, and held other senior positions in Ukrainian NGOs.
