(May 7, 2019) Alan Parsons, singer, musician, record producer and recording engineer, brings the Alan Parsons Live Project to The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts on Wednesday, September 18 at 8pm. Tickets are on sale now to members and go on sale to the public on Tuesday, May 7 at 10 am. Alan Parsons has received a large number of awards, including 11 Grammy® nominations, The Les Paul Award in 1995 and The Diva Hall Of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award in Munich, Germany in June 2012. He is also in demand as a public speaker for events such as the 2014 Audio Engineering Society Convention in Los Angeles and the TEDx Conejo conference in California in April 2012. Born into a family with an impressive history in entertainment, Parsons dabbled with live performance in his late teens. As soon as he landed a job at the famous Abbey Road Studios at the age of 19, it became clear that the world of sound recording was to dominate his career. He was fortunate enough to work as assistant engineer on the last two albums by The Beatles and, after he qualified as a fully-fledged recording engineer, he went on to work with Paul McCartney and The Hollies, among many others. It was his contribution as engineer on Pink Floyd’s classic “The Dark Side Of The Moon” that really got him world attention and soon led to striking success as a producer. In 1975, Parsons met Eric Woolfson, who not only became his manager, but joined forces with Parsons as a songwriting and performing partner for what became known as “The Alan Parsons Project.” Parsons dropped the “Project” identity for Alan Parsons’ “Try Anything Once” in 1994, and, later, the first incarnation of Alan Parsons Live Project toured to sell out audiences throughout the globe.

People come and go, but music remains forever, since acoustic waves are not bound to matter like monuments, paintings, or sculptures. In contrast, music as sound in general is transmitted by matter vibrations and can be reproduced independent of space and time. In this way, music is able to connect humans from the earliest high cultures to people of our present societies all over the world. Music is indeed a universal language and likely not restricted to our planetary society. The importance of music to the human society is also underlined by the Voyager mission: Both Voyager spacecrafts, which were launched at August 20th and September 05th, 1977, are bound for the stars, now, after their visits to the outer planets of our solar system (mission status: https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/status/). They carry a gold- plated copper phonograph record, which comprises 90 minutes of music selected from all cultures next to sounds, spoken messages, and images from our planet Earth. There is rather little hope that any extraterrestrial form of life will ever come along the Voyager spacecrafts. But if this is yet going to happen they are likely able to understand the sound of music from these records at least.

Jerez, viernes 16 de agosto de 2019.- El broche de oro del VI TÍO PEPE FESTIVAL se pondrá mañana sábado 17 de agosto con el concierto de la banda británica “Alan Parsons Live Project”. En esta última cita musical, se podrán disfrutar de “Las cenas del Festival” o alargar la noche con los conciertos que ofrece el espacio TPF Club en The Village. El inglés Alan Parsons, que se reconoce a sí mismo como productor, ingeniero de sonido, cantante, teclista y guitarrista, nació en una familia llena de artistas. Nieto del actor Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree, es hijo de una actriz, cantante de folk profesional y arpista, siendo su padre Denys Parsons, pianista y flautista consumado, además de escritor. Asimismo, Parsons era familiar de los actores cineastas Oliver Reed y David Tree. Durante su carrera ha cosechado un total de 14 nominaciones a los Grammy Awards, el último en el pasado 2018 por "Eye In The Sky - 35th Anniversary Edition”, y ha vendido más de 50 millones de discos a lo largo de estos años, siendo especialmente reconocido de forma mundial por su trabajo como ingeniero de sonido en el álbum “Abbey Road” de The Beatles y en “Dark Side Of The Moon” (El lado oscuro de la luna) de Pink Floyd, dos de los álbumes icónicos de todos los tiempos.

Mit seinem eingängigen Mix aus Pop-Rock mit Symphonic- und Progressive-Rock Einlagen markiert ›The Secret‹ nach dem elektronischen ›A Valid Path‹ von 2004 eine Rückkehr zu genau dem Sound, der sein Alan Parsons Project weltbekannt machte. Alan Parsons Werdegang im Musikgeschäft ist so sagenumwoben wie einzigartig: Er hatte das große Glück, als Tontechnik-Assistent an den letzten beiden Alben der Beatles mitzuwirken, wurde anschließend selbst gefragter Aufnahme-Techniker und arbeitete unter anderem mit Paul McCartney und den Hollies zusammen.
