A New Season!

When looking back to last June, who would have anticipated events that unfolded over the past year? Zoom, TEAMS and WFH (working from home) are part of our ver- nacular, and the words, ‘quarantine’, ‘lockdown’ and ‘virus’ all have new meaning.

With the recent Government of ’s announcement of Phase 3 beginning soon, we are planning for an in-person Annual Clinic Coordinator meeting this September 16th, in . Public Health orders and advisories will be followed and, if neces- sary, adjustments can be made prior to the meeting. The Rajani FASD Ax and Dx Clinic Training Services is celebrating its 10-year anniversary, and this meeting will recognize and honour the past decade of building relationships, supporting, and connecting with clinics across Alberta. Stay tuned for more information about this meeting, including hotel room bookings.

We are pleased to welcome Kelly Rogers to our team. Some of you may remember Kelly as the clinic coordinator with the NW Central Network from 2011-2014. She will be providing assistance to our projects’ work over the next months. Amber Bell has been actively involved and influential to the success of our program for a number of years, including her contributions to: pilot projects; training clinicians on the University of Washington Facial Software program; research papers; and developing a TIPS sheet for the Disability Tax Credit application. Amber has stepped aside to devote time to her other obligations and we wish her well, but will continue to see her in- volvement with FASD.

With this ‘Open for Summer’ plan, please continue to support your clients and others to understand how effective vaccines are in preventing COVID-19 disease and its protection against severe COVID-19 illness, risk of hospitalization or death. Find time to enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of spring and summer!

Research Projects

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR A RESEARCH STUDY

We are doing a research study on substance use and addictions treatment for adults who have or may have Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).

We are interested in interviewing adults with FASD who have had experiences of addictions treatment, and caregivers of individuals with FASD who have had experience with supporting their loved one with addictions.

The interview will take place on Zoom and will take between 30-45 minutes. You will receive a $10.00 gift card as an appreciation for your time.

If you are interested in participating or would like more information,

please e-mail [email protected]. Crystal’s Miracle Minutes

Set or clear a print area on a worksheet

A print area is one or more ranges of cells that you designate to print when you don't want to print the entire worksheet. When you print a worksheet after defining a print area, only the print area is printed. You can add cells to expand the print area as needed, and you can clear the print area to print the entire worksheet.

A worksheet can have multiple print areas. Each print area will print as a separate page.

Set one or more print areas

1. On the worksheet, select the cells that you want to define as the print area.

Tip: To set multiple print areas, hold down the Ctrl key and click the areas you want to print. Each print area prints on its own page.

2. On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click Print Area, and then click Set Print Area.

Note: The print area that you set is saved when you save the workbook.

To see all the print areas to make sure they’re the ones you want, click View > Page Break Preview in the Workbook Views group. When you save your workbook, the print area is saved too.

Add cells to an existing print area

You can enlarge the print area by adding adjacent cells. If you add cells that aren’t adjacent to the print area, Excel creates a new print area for those cells.

1. On the worksheet, select the cells that you want to add to the existing print area. Crystal’s Miracle Minutes

2. On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click Print Area, and then click Add to Print Area.

When you save your workbook, the print area is saved as well.

Clear a print area

Note: If your worksheet contains multiple print areas, clearing a print area removes all the print areas on your worksheet.

1. Click anywhere on the worksheet for which you want to clear the print area. 2. On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click Clear Print Area.

Links, Training & Webinars

This newly released book by Dr. Mansfield Mela, provides clinically relevant information for mental health experts, including professionals in the medical, mental, educational, vocational, legal and correctional, child welfare, and others, who encounter individuals with a hidden disability. Professionals require essential training to appropriately support patients who navigate the mental health system because of the consequences of prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE). Because curricula have only recently begun to incorporate this material, a text providing basic as well as advanced information is necessary. This book is significant because its content is useful for professional training across many mental health disciplines. It covers information missing from curricula about the long-term effects of PAE (fetal alcohol spectrum disorder ["FASD 101"]) and includes clinical information on the mental disorders relevant to FASD. Given the burgeoning research and knowledge in this area, the text also updates, synthesizes, and consolidates current information into one source. Even seasoned mental health professionals well versed in the research data can use this information to become better educated and informed on the intersecting mental health consequences of PAE.
