Last year, the 1st International Congress gathered more than 250 participants, and in this 2nd International edition, the congress is already a success since it will welcome more than 250 participants. The congress is organizedin invited plenary lectures, oral and poster sessions have been organized to favor meetings and interaction between participants on Food Science and Technology with the aim of integrating different disciplines and put together scientist and experts of different fields: Food Security, Food Technology, Food Chemistry and Food Analysis including several sessions on advances in applied research throughout the food chain, industrial and networking actions. We hope that this congress will provide a vital forum Spanish and international colleagues to appreciate the current state of the art in Food Technology research and will be a unique opportunity for discussion of solutions to today’s and tomorrow’s challenges. Finally, we would like to address our grateful thanks to our students of the Valencian Association of Students of Food Science and Technology, that greatly helped us to organize this congress: without their enthusiastic participation, we could not host the Second International Edition. On behalf of the Organizing and Scientific Committees we would like to wish you an interesting and enjoyable Conference in one of the most attractive Spanish corners, with fruitful discussion and exchange of professional points of view from experts coming from different countries around the world. We are so proud we can stay here one more year accomplishing the objectives we have in our organization, celebrating this event in our search for the promotion and divulgation of science and food technology, as well as the continuous and high level education of the students. We would like to show our gratitude to all the members of the scientific and organizing committees for their invaluable work and dedication, and also for their commitment to our careers and education of future professionals. Thanks to the speakers who altruistically participate in the congress, for their willingness to share their knowledge and investigations, they give meaning, value and quality to this congress, which could not be possible without their collaboration. Thanks to all the sponsors who have supported us, it would not have been possible to hold a conference with the quality and magnitude of the present one without their support; thanks for trusting us and focus on science, research and education. Such a problem is associated with poor storage practices, and lack of adopting good agricultural practices and good harvesting prac- tices. Nevertheless, AMPs are poorly investigated. The purpose of this study was to investigate the co-occurrence of 15 mycotoxins (four aflatoxins (AFB1, AFB2, AFG1, and AFG2), ochratoxin A (OTA), beauvericin (BEA), four enniatins (ENA, ENA1, ENB, and ENB1), zearalenone (ZEN), alternariol (AOH), tentoxin (TENT), T-2, and HT-2 toxins) in 40 samples of AMPs frequently consumed in Morocco by using liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry. The introductory denunciations in the proceso of her sister Inés del Campo (ADC leg. 320, no. 4620) include a sizeable extract (23 ff., in part a summary), which I paraphrase here. This, her second proceso, culminating in her execution on 16 August 1592, must have been voluminous, for the extract lists nine sessions in 1591, dated June 7, June 21, July 4, July 5, August 22, October 3, October 30, December 4, December 11. Three of these were conducted by the Cuenca Inquisitors Francisco de Arganda and Francisco Velarde de la Concha; six by Arganda alone. Sessions 3-5, based on the Prosecutor’s Bill of Accusation, not reproduced verbatim, number at least 14 counts (chapters), only eight of which (4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12,14) are present in the extract. It is used here to illustrate different traditions of taxonomic interpreta- tion of infraspecific variation among researchers in different continents. Recent accounts of European and Mediterranean taxa commonly make an emphasis on recognizing subspecies. In contrast, ac- counts of North American Loteae recognize all infraspecific taxa as varieties. Harmonization of taxonomic concepts across continents is essential for a more accurate representation of data in global biodiversity databases. It is reasonable to use the rank of subspecies for geographically defined infraspecific units with localized zones of intergradation. Such subspecies may be at least partially compatible across continents and taxonomic groups.     The TOP 50 Plants Campaign The ‘Top 50’ Plants Campaign aims to help save plant species that face a high risk of extinction by providing information to and raising awareness among decision makers, conservation practitioners and the general public. By highlighting a selection of plants that are at the brink of extinction, readers can learn of broader conservation issues and actions needed to save thousands of threatened plant species around the world. This project draws on the extensive knowledge and expertise of the more than 30 plant Specialist Groups of the IUCN Species Survival Commission (SSC). Each group is ready to undertake an assessment of their ‘Top 50’ species. The Mediterranean Island Plant Specialist Group, with support from the MAVA Foundation, is leading the pilot ‘Top 50’ project. It must be emphasised that these ‘Top 50’ species are only a selection of the many threatened with extinction, and that many more are endangered. It is essential that this work be not just a memorial to these plants which are about to disappear, but will promote conservation action. CRESPO1, ANA JUAN GALLARDO1, Mª ÁNGELES ALONSO VARGAS1, FERNANDO MARTÍNEZ FLORES1 Y MARIO MARTÍNEZ AZORÍN1 RESUMEN Se presentan los principales resultados de un proyecto de investigación sobre la biodiversidad vege- tal del Parque Nacional del Archipiélago de Cabrera, particularmente de los endemismos Medicago citrina (Font Quer) Greuter (Fabaceae) –iberolevantino-balear– y Daucus carota L. subsp. majoricus A. Pujadas (Apiaceae) –caprariense-mallorquín–. Los trabajos fueron dirigidos principalmente a conocer aspectos necesarios para acometer la conservación y el manejo adecuados de ambos endemismos, en el marco de actuación de la biología de la conservación. En el caso de M. citrina, los estudios repro- ductivos evidencian que las poblaciones caprarienses presentan tasas de reproducción similares a las ibicencas y alicantinas, pero muy distintas a las castellonenses; y ello se debe a las particularidades de las comunidades de insectos polinizadores de cada territorio. Los estudios de variación genética poblacional de esta leguminosa permiten afirmar que existe un flujo génico muy reducido entre las cuatro grandes poblaciones conocidas (Alicante, Columbretes, Ibiza y Cabrera) y que se han estable- cido procesos activos de microespeciación en cada una. Por ello, deben ser tratadas como ESU (unida- des evolutivamente significativas), con las implicaciones que ello tiene en su futuro manejo. En el apartado de relaciones filogenéticas, M. citrina y el resto de integrantes de M. sect. Dendrotelis forman un grupo monofilético muy consistente, y dicho grupo no puede considerarse basal en el ámbito de Medicago, no siendo ancestral el carácter leñoso en el conjunto del género.
