4 c. Ten-year track record (2004-2014) During my career I have developed a programmatic research focused on clinical cognitive science (basic research) and evidence-based psychological treatments (translational applied research), namely on the role of cognitive mechanisms, both explicit (e.g., cognitions/beliefs) and implicit (e.g., cognitive biases), in generating subjective/emotional, behavioral, and biological human responses, more specifically, on the role of (a) rational/functional and irrational/dysfunctional beliefs/cognitions and (b) response hopes/expectancies on various psychological and medical outcomes related to mental health. Although my main focus is on the knowledge, computational, and algorithmic-representational aspects of cognitive mechanisms, recently I have also started to approach their implementation basis (e.g., neurobiological/genetic). When clinical trials are used as translational research instruments (e.g., from clinical cognitive science to cognitive-behavioral therapy), the analysis is multilevel: (1) outcomes (i.e., efficacy/effectiveness); (2) theory/mechanisms of change (i.e., psychological/ biological); and (3) economic aspects (e.g., cost-effectiveness/cost-utility). A specific research interest refers to the use of technology in our psychological research/applications (i.e., virtual reality therapy; robotherapy). 1.
