Basic Philosophy: Visiting team members, students and adult spectators are guests to be accorded all the courtesy and consideration that a friendly, well mannered and well intentioned host would normally give. The visitors, in turn, are to act as invited guests, using the home school's facilities with care and respecting the rules and customs of the home school. It is expected that all spectators and participants will follow this CODE: Athletic opponents and officials are guests and should be treated as such. Spectators should watch the game from those areas designated by each school as spectator areas. Signs will be posted for spectators designating home and away seating. Verbal abuse of opposing athletes or officials by team members or spectators shall be considered unsportsmanlike conduct. It shall be the responsibility of authorized school personnel attending games, either at home or away, to make sure students and spectators from their school conduct themselves appropriately. Officials are the proper authorities to make decisions regarding rules and their interpretation; these decisions should be accepted. Cheering should be in support of either team and should not be directed toward creating unfriendly rivalries among athletes or fans. Any spectator who evidences poor sportsmanship will be requested to leave and may be denied admission to future contests. All chaperones will be wearing identifying badges designating their responsibility and the school they represent. Spectators, athletes and coaches must recognize that their conduct plays an important role in establishing the reputation of their schools and that their positive actions can relate directly to the success of their teams. - 1 - OFFICERS OF THE SUBURBAN SCHOLASTIC COUNCIL President John Rickert, Niskayuna Secretary Rich Murphy, Shaker Treasurer Brett Miller, Saratoga DIVISION OF INTERSCHOLASTIC ATHLETICS FOR BOYS AND GIRLS President Joe Scalise, BHBL Vice-President/Secretary/Treasurer Len Kies, Bethlehem Liaison Principal John Rickert, Niskayuna Past President Regan Johnson, Guilderland DIRECTORS SECRETARY SCHOOLS DIRECTORS SECRETARY SCHOOLS Kathleen Ryan Brenda Mangan Albany Mark Bubniak Monica Shupe Averill Park Dave Sunkes Laura Waldinger Ballston Spa Lenny Kies Melissa Appleby Bethlehem Joe Scalise Peggy Ostrom Burnt Hills Blaine Dresher Ken Ille CBA Joseph Guardino Lorraine Minisale Colonie Mike Leonard Jean Schweigert Columbia Regan Johnson Maria Mazzone Guilderland Jason Friesan Rosie Semerad Mohonasen Larry Gillooley Cindy Primeau Niskayuna Paul Reinisch Melissa Miller Troy Peter Sheehan Deborah Hopkins Saratoga Steven Boynton Louise Siler Schenectady Matt Stein Deanna Washburn Shaker Chris Culnan Kristie Heffner Shenendehowa FALL SPORTS Cheerleading Ann Little, Colonie HS Swim (G) Josh Muldner, Toga – [email protected] Field Hockey Dottie Massiello, EG- [email protected] Tennis (G) Bill MacArthur, Shen – [email protected] Football Joe Scalise, BHBL, Regan Johnson, G-land, Terry Volleyball (G) Gary Bynon, BHBL – [email protected] Jones, Toga Volleyball (B) Paul Sanders, BHBL – [email protected] Golf Chris Douglas, Shen Linda Kranick, Toga- [email protected] Soccer (B) Mike Kinnally, G-land – X Country Lance Jordan, Shen [email protected] Soccer (G) Brian Bold BHBL [email protected] WINTER SPORTS Basketball (B) Dave Pugliese, [email protected] Gymnastics Marbry Gansle, Shaker - [email protected] Basketball (G) Joe Murphy, Shen- [email protected] Ice Hockey Juan DeLaRocha, Shen - [email protected] Bowling (B) Ken Merchant, BHBL [email protected] Swim (B) Bill Mottola, Mohon. – [email protected] Bowling (G) John Dennis, Mohon.
