Biographie

Douglas Kirkland (1934 in Fort Erie, Ontario geboren/ lebt heute in Los Angeles)

 Douglas Kirkland begann im Alter von 24 Jahren als „Staff Photographer“ beim LOOK MAGAZIN.  1964 mit gerade 25 Jahren erhielt er den Auftrag für eine Photoserie mit Marilyn Monroe – diese „Nacht mit Marilyn“ ließ den Photographen sofort weltbekannt werden  Später war Kirkland fester Photograph beim LIFE MAGAZIN  Als Photojournalist war Douglas Kirkland in Griechenland, im Libanon und in Japan  Für Fashion und Celebrity-Photography arbeitete er mit zahlreichen Models und Berühmtheiten / für zahlreiche Hochglanzmagazine  Douglas Kirkland photographierte unter anderem Sting, Mick Jagger, Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Marlene Dietrich, Romy Schneider und viele andere Stars der 60er und 70er Jahre / aber auch Michael Jackson für THRILLER  Kirkland war bei über 100 Produktionen Set-Photograph – darunter „Butch Cassidy and the Sundona Kid“, „2001 A Space Odyssey“, „Sound of Musik“, „Out of Africa“, „Titanic“, „Moulin Rouge“, „Australia“, „The Greet Gatsby“, und so weiter.
