2018-19 !!!!!CHICAGO!WOLVES ! GAME!NOTES CHICAGO at COLORADO OCTOBER 5, 2018 8 p.m. AHLTV THE!=>TH!ANNIVERSARY!SEASON 2018-19 After months of preparation and anticipation, the 2018-19 American Hockey League season finally has TALE!OF!THE!TAPE arrived for the Chicago Wolves. Tonight marks the start of the franchise’s 25th season overall and 18th year as part of the American Hockey League. It seems fitting to open the year against the Colorado REGULAR-SEASON SERIES 0-0-0-0 Colorado | 0-0-0-0 Chicago Eagles because it’s a milestone occasion for them as well. The Eagles are making their AHL debut as they were welcomed as the league’s 31st team earlier this year. LAST MEETING April 22, 2018 Just as the Wolves are known for being four-time league champions, the Eagles enter this year riding the momentum of back-to-back championships in the ECHL. They have become partners with the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche this season, so their roster does not bear much resemblance to the group that claimed the 2018 Kelly Cup. Only six Eagles return, but a good chunk of Colorado’s Opening Night 0-0-0-0 0-0-0-0 roster played for San Antonio last year as the Rampage served as the Colorado Avalanche’s NHL partner. That group includes former Wolves forward Andrew Agozzino (18 goals, 36 assists in 2016-17). 2018-19 Chicago Wolves Game Notes MILWAUKEE AT CHICAGO OCTOBER 14, 2018 3 p.m. THE U TOO IT WAS 24 YEARS AGO TODAY... 2018-19 On Oct. 14, 1994, the Chicago Wolves hosted their first home game. More than 16,000 fans poured TALE OF THE TAPE through the then-Rosemont Horizon’s doors to find out whether these guys really were animals. REGULAR-SEASON SERIES 0-0-0-0 Milwaukee | 0-0-0-0 Chicago Wayne Messmer sang an inspirational national anthem -- his first since being wounded in the throat by a gunshot six months earlier -- with Nancy Faust accompanying him on organ. When Todd LAST MEETING Harkins scored the first goal just 1:14 into the game, fans threw raw meat on the ice. And by the time April 22, 2018 goaltender Wendell Young and the Wolves wrapped up their 4-2 victory over the Detroit Vipers, a love affair between a hockey team and a city had begun. It’s fitting that the Wolves meet the Milwaukee Admirals on this anniversary because the Admirals are 3-0-0-0 3-0-0-0 the only American Hockey League team that was a part of the International Hockey League along with the Wolves in 1994-95 -- and these two teams have been together every year since. LAST MEETING March 26, 2019 “I really thought Elvenes had a good game (Saturday) night,” said Wolves head coach Rocky Thompson. “He was very productive. And I thought Quinney looked really good. REGULAR-SEASON SERIES 3-1-0-0 Grand Rapids | 1-2-1-0 Chicago The Central Division’s top five teams are separated by just four points with Grand Rapids and Iowa (which is idle tonight) tied for first with 49 points. The Wolves are just one point behind heading into tonight’s matchup while Texas (47 points) and Milwaukee (45 points) are just a successful week away from the top. But, wait, it gets crazier. Texas ranks fourth in points, but the Stars are first in points percentage (.635) because they’ve played two fewer games than the Wolves and three fewer than the Griffins 21-12-3-4 22-13-3-1 and the Wild.
