NYC PRIDE RELEASES 2020 “THE FUTURE IS…” THEME

“The Future Is…” connects the past, present, and future of the LGBTQIA+ community.

NEW YORK, NY (February 12, 2020) - NYC Pride reveals 2020’s official theme, “The Future Is…” and visual campaign as part of this year’s brand elements. The campaign features over 15 unique voices from the LGBTQIA+ community.

“This year’s theme is reflective of the resilient nature of historic LGBTQIA+ activists who fought for our collective freedoms and the promising future of the new generation skilled to lead the charge for equality,” said David A. Correa, Interim Executive Director, NYC Pride.

“The Future Is…” represents the diversity of our LGBTQIA+ community while also honoring each person’s individuality and unique outlook for the future. The theme is inclusive of identity, ethnicity, age, body types, language and religious beliefs. The theme connects our storied past, milestones, and promising future.

NYC Pride 2020’s campaign led by Eboni Munn, Communications Consultant and graphic agency, Zero Studios, features original black and white photography captured by Soraya Zaman and illustrations created by Jade Purple Brown. The campaign also features a “The Future Is…” montage led by Munn and Pasha Poosh of YOPOOSH.

“The success of last year’s campaign was monumental. This year’s visual identity builds off of that success by continuing to lift and elevate voices and images from the LGBTQIA+ community by the community,” said Munn. “The campaign should always be reflective of our community and the team that leads the campaign should also be reflective of LGBTQIA+ voices.”

Throughout the year, NYC Pride will also release individualized videos of personal stories of the influencers selected to lead 2020’s campaign.
