Gone to Alabama
GONE TO ALABAMA PART THREE The Gilbreath Family and Descendants VOLUME II Descendants of Baxter Gilbreath (1790-1855) Compiled by EDWARD J. LADD Fort Payne, Ala. Copylight 1976 EDWARD J. LADD Library of Congress Catalogue Card Number 72-96346 Binding by WORTH BINDERY Ft. Worth, Texas 76107 Published By Worth PutliJhing Co. :Jori WorlL, :JexaJ 7610 7 '';.;;y, <c)F,.A·;y>" '~/?"i' ~o FOREWORD We wish to thank all of the people who have assisted in compiling this History with special thanks to: Robert Patrick, Gladys Peebles, Prussia Cair,, Juanita Mays, Frances McFarland, Lesley Waltman, Paul Gilbreath, and Chester Smith. To the few who have utterly ignored our request for information concerning their families we bear no ill will, and only regret that we have not their records. If some branches of the family are better represented than others, it is because those branches responded more freely to our request for information. The same FAMILY FORMS were sent to all parties and an effort was made to obtain complete information on each family. A search has been made of Census Records (1790-1900), Marriage Records, Tombstone Inscriptions and Family Bibles for data on the Family. When such information was found the reference is noted. Where no reference is given the information was received by correspondance or personal interview with the descendant or a close relative. The data in this Genealogy has been compiled over a period of years (1965-1975) and some of the births, marriages, and deaths occuring during that space of time do not appear in the text.
