DAV BASKING IN GLORY

DAV Thane, in its endeavour to encourage and acknowledge the splendid academic achievement of its meritorious students in Class X CBSE Board Exam- March,2018 , Class VIII D.A.V Board Exam along with School Merit Exam winners were felicitated in a grand ceremony on 23 June , 2018, conducted at Kashinath Ghanekar Auditorium, Thane.

The momentous occasion was graced by Cabinet Minister (PWD) Shri Eknath Shinde who was the Chief Guest of the day. The honourable Minister congratulated the students, parents and teachers for the remarkable success and said that the school was adding to the glory of Thane, emerging as a top school. He also urged all to strive towards excellence and make Thane a smart city.

Wing Commander Nimit Kaura and Shri Rajesh Katkar, Additional Collector Mumbai Suburban District were the Guests of Honour for the occasion while the special guests for the day were Meenakshi Iyer, Principal Sri Ma Vidyala, Mrs.Preeti Khandelwal, President Rotract Club, Thane Paradise, Mrs Sushma Misar , Ex-Principal Kendriya Vidyalaya Thane and Shri Nilesh Shinde , Advisor , PTA of DAV Thane.

The School has continued with its legacy of achieving 100 % result for the 20th consecutive year in CBSE’s Class X Examination. State Topper Master Shashank Ramakrishnan made the school immensely proud by securing 99.2 % while Adrija De stood second with 98.8% and Isha Kulkarni and Kushal Gupta stood third with 98.4 %. Out of 498 students who appeared, 154 students secured 90 % and above. The school also took opportunity to honour achievers of class VIII along with meritorious students of different classes. The students as well their parents were felicitated with mementos.

The celebrations also included an enthralling cultural fiesta. Wing Commander Nimit Kaura congratulated the Principal and the staff of the school for motivating the students to achieve something substantial in their lives and reiterated that the goal of education was to rise from individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.

The Principal, Ms Simmi Juneja, congratulated the students, parents and the staff for their determination and hardwork. She expressed her gratitude to the parents for their unconditional support in all endeavours of the school. The students and the parents also took opportunity and pleasure in sharing their gratitude towards the school which laid the foundation for their resounding success.
