Congratulations to the Aldine Education Foundation Scholarship Recipients - Gilbert, Steven, William, Gabby, Adrian, Alma, Isaac, Rene, and Laura 1 Staff Farewell Notes Dear Graduating Seniors, It seems like only yesterday that I walked into a brightly lit classroom at Lone Star College to encounter a room filled with anxious juniors. You all have come such a long way together since then and you are now graduates, ready to break records and make your way in the world! It seems unreal. I would like to start by congratulating you all on your graduation. You have all worked hard, and watching you develop and grow into confident and intelligent young adults has been an extremely rewarding experience for me. Your willingness to learn to take chances and grow has made you all much stronger. My hope for each of you will be to continue to be successful in all your future endeavors. When I think of our time together, many great moments spring to mind. Thank you all in advance for the everlasting memories. I also want to congratulate each of you on the hard work you put into your academics, sports, Saturday College preps and extra-curricular school activities. I know it was a lot. • Why Challenge?
I get it. It’s a summer trip - WHY CHALLENGE? We love Challenge, and it’s as simple as this: God uses Challenge to change lives. Challenge takes students beyond a mountaintop moment, and equips them to live life on mission for Christ. If you talk to students who have been on a Challenge trip, you’ll hear stories like this: “At Challenge this week I met new awesome friends, grew closer to others, and was challenged to always show God’s love to others, even when it’s scary, uncomfortable, or I just don’t feel like it, because it’s a choice to be all in for God and I want others to see His glory through me.” This year, the theme is “Restless: Longing and Belonging”, using the power of the gospel to point to Christ as the only one that can turn our longing to belonging. For more stories, check the top corners of this info sheet - there are so many times when God has used Challenge to impact students. We’re really excited for this summer (yes, we know it’s a ways away), and to see how God will use Challenge to work in our students! QUESTIONS? JULY 13-18, 2020 CONTACT EMILY KANSAS CITY, MO [email protected] “God puts us through tough situations because He loves us. It’s how we grow.” FAQ’S Here’s the basics, the details, and answers to some of our most frequently asked questions about Challenge. If we missed something, just ask! Give me the basics.

  • Cody Collins Bio
CODY COLLINS BIO Cody Collins is living the music industry dream. Born on June 1, 1984 in Dothan, Alabama and growing up in Pensacola, Florida, Cody was a natural-born musician. Singing ever since he could talk. His family recognized and supported his singing abilities at an early age and by 13 years old, Cody was performing locally for audiences at festivals and fairs. At age 15, Cody joined a Country band called McAlyster who were later signed to MCA Records and had some success with the release of single “I Know How The River Feels”. Following the split of the band, Cody moved to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue a career in music and began singing on demos for songwriters and playing locally at famous venues. While performing at Cowboys, Cody was introduced to Dean Sams, keyboardist for multi-platinum selling Country powerhouse group, Lonestar. The pair discussed the possibilities of working together, but never had Cody anticipated the opportunities ahead. At the end of 2007, Lonestar’s lead singer Richie McDonald left the band to pursue a solo career and following a rigorous audition process, Cody was brought in as his replacement. Cody rocked the stage as Lonestar’s lead singer for four outstanding years debuting their uptempo album "Party Heard Around the World". Come 2012 Cody will be pursuing his life long dream of becoming a solo artist where he can fully utilize his talents on the big stage. Though Cody has gone from being the hunk-next-door to being a superstar Country heartthrob, he is still the same down-to-Earth, sweet southern guy, who is grateful that he has been lucky enough to be able to live his dream.
