Not only has this got to be the best Hulk story ever but its also one of the best ever Marvel storylines. Granted it borrows greatly from Spartacus and Gladiator among other films but the combination of great story and great artwork makes this a compelling read and I can see myself returning to this again and again over the years.This Omnibus has a lot of things going for it as it is very well designed and constructed out of a sewn binding making this stay open from page one. The pages are glossy and a little on the thin side for me but the dust cover is beautiful and so is the hard cover beneath it. We get the Las Vegas story to start this all off to explain the rationale for finally deciding to banish our misunderstood hero to the main course which is the truly brilliant Planet Hulk storyline and then it ends a little lamely with some relatively very poor stories like the What ifs and Amadeus Cho and the Champions which I thought were very lame. Then we have great extras like the Gladiator Guidebook explaining and detailing the whole Sakaar universe and I felt like I was reading Tolkien for a while what with the maps and detailed descriptions of all things Sakaar.The only regret I have is that this story ends too soon in my opinion; instead of going on to World War Hulk which to me isnt nearly as good as Planet Hulk right away Pak should have stayed with Sakaar and Id have liked to see at least a few adventures with the Warbound and nation-building and even forgoing the whole WW Hulk revenge thing. Planet Hulk could have been an ongoing series for some time and it would have been much more rewarding than the super quick ending leading to the not as great WW Hulk story. Also it would make more sense to expand on the Planet Hulk story than to have us believe that Hulks queen became pregnant after 3 days! It just felt way too rushed and I feel a great opportunity was missed to explore even a whole Planet Hulk series that would attract a whole new fanbase; I know I would be a fan and follower of such an ongoing series.This is still a great Marvel Omnibus though and should be in every comic fans library.Very highly recommended! I do say though, if you want the true story of Planet Hulk; please pick up the Planet Hulk Omnibus that collects all the comics in the story arc.
